Thanks for sharing, guys. As far as the pictures on the cover, I think photo reproduction technology has improved. I noticed the white album poster photos had better clarity than other posters issued with older pressings.
It looks like the title REVOLVER is indeed spot varnish/embossed on the cover in its normal place, yeah? Looks great. People are complaining about the price of the vinyl set, but forgetting that the big Pepper and Abbey Road vinyl sets didn't come with the book. They only just started giving the books to the vinyl buyers so of course the vinyl box set prices will increase because of that. Four Beatles LPs + 7" + book is a lot of material.
Awesome - love the mutual excitement at discovering the REVOLVER hologram! Your collective enthusiasm is always fun to listen to. Looking forward to release day!!
Can’t wait to get my copy next week. Can I just say, all the books in these releases starting with Sgt Pepper, have been absolutely superb. (Even the books in the mono and stereo vinyl boxes too) they are what I look forward to almost as much as the outtakes and remix. I really hope the early albums get the same treatment.
Hey guys greetings from Sydney Australia. Great unboxing video. New subscriber. Can't wait to get mine. I've pre-ordered the LP box & the picture disc which probably won't arrive till next month now and will get the CD formats on release. I'm in the throes of packing for a house move. I've left another, longer comment below replying to one of yours just about the formats & contents. Some of the book photos are in Robert Freeman's beautiful oversized book "The Beatles: A Private View". Cool to see they used his rejected cover for the outtakes discs. Can't wait to get mine. Mitch you're right about it being like a kid again. I've had the same excitement with each box though it seems I'm more surprised about my excitement when I finally have the sets in my hands. Cheers guys. 👍😎
Wow, that's a really nice effect with the spot varnish there. I've always liked "textless" versions of album covers but I thought it looked too plain on this box - that effect gives us the best of both.
The "Revolver" cover was a work of art before there was anything printed on it. It should be appreciated as that. With nothing printed on it to distract the eye it is all the more splendid.
Good Morning from the Fab Four’s home City Liverpool, England!! …. I can’t wait to play my vinyl box set, and greetings to all three of you lucky guys. Great exiting video.. 🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸
Good catch. Yes, Ringo said it when he was introducing the Paperback Writer and Rain clips on the Sullivan show. I said it because I thought it was appropriate given those two songs are in this box.
Great unboxing! I’ll be getting the vinyl, but am new to vinyl, grew up listening to CDs. Do we need to change the cartridge to a mono cartridge when listening to the mono vinyl? Also, is it true that we should clean/wash vinyls, even if brand new prior to their 1st spin? Thx
I wouldn't worry about the cartridge, the difference will be absolutely minimal especially with modern tech and and a new mono record. And just use an anti static brush before first play.
@@Beatletoon Listening to it and then going right into the slowed down version is a jolt. This box has some amazing artifacts that I would argue most of us have never heard on any boots or, in some cases, never even knew existed. Love hearing the early Got To Get You Into My Life versions to show how they worked a song over to what was released. Great box.
@@fab4free4all20 this would the first time that they kept the books the same size for the LP & CD boxes. The White Album & Let It Be CD boxes were roughly the same size with their respective books but not LP sized. Abbey Road both had LP sized boxes but the HC book was in the CD box only. Pepper boxed set only was CD with the book only but the LP was an unboxed double. Even here the music contents weren't the same between both sets as with the White Album, with both CD sets being more extensive. It seems that from the Abbey Road box onwards, the plan has become to replicate all the music content on BOTH set formats which is why the disc count and contents are the same. I'd say that the vinyl format is steering these and the CD is following the LP version. So basically you get the same music content regardless of which version you buy as opposed to what happened with the first 2 remix boxes. I guess it's to 'alleviate complaints about people missing out on something' buying one or the other set. Of course it leads to the other complaint about the CD's only running at 40-50 odd minutes not being filled with extra content. Either way Apple/Ume can't win lol.
@@naimusic362 You call that "stereo"? Read George Martin's _All You Need is Ears_ on how the LP was recorded, the standard and market and intent being that the final mix and release would be mono.
@@jnagarya519 BFS didn’t suffer the same hard panning as other albums so that should be left alone in my opinion. Maybe releasing it without the ‘eq’ that was added in 2009 and do straight AAA if the original tapes are good enough?
@@naimusic362 You are misusing the word "panning". READ George Martin's _All You Need is Ears_ in which he details, in plain English, how the recordings were made: ALL vocals on one track, ALL music on the other -- that's why the "hole in the middle"; "panning" requires the same sound be recorded to at least two tracks -- the goal from the outset being that the final mix would be MONO. The original tapes were long ago preserved by copying them digitally. The idea that there are differences between analog and digital on playback is correct: the analog incudes distortion; the digital does not; when the digital is played back it is converted to analog -- but without the distortion. There are numerous amateur "audiophiles" who don't know what they are talking about. Most of them began by demanding -- as if they were OWED -- that the first four "Beatles" LP's be released in stereo. They didn't know what they were talking about then -- "two tracks + two ears = stereo" is false. The two track recordings -- READ MARTIN -- were PRE-MIXED MONO -- that why the "hole in the middle" which is FALSELY called "hard panning". How "panning" works is demonstrated by the balance control on a stereo: turn it to the right and the sound that is in BOTH speakers becomes louder in the right speaker and lower in the left channel. The two-track "Beatles" recordings -- released by EMI as "stereo" without telling Martin -- don't work like that: turn the balance all the way to the right and you get either ONLY vocals OR music. Turn it all the way to the left and you get the OTHER track ONLY.

Let's all be honest pretty much all of the out takes an demo's on thease beatles box sets apart from a few songs across all the sets are not any good an the only reason to get this one is for the mono mix of the album, like alot of people I have all the sets so far an as a beatles nut I'll buy this one an any ones that come in the future but when I wanna listen to a beatles song I always go to the original albums does anyone else do the same
I agree to a point. A lot of the sessions discs are one or two or three listens and then done. I always go for the new stereo mixes of each. But I understand your point. But the book in this one is really well done and the content is great.
I agree about the books in each box set they are very well put together, may I ask does anyone know are the outakes gona be the same that came out on the anthology series of albums a few years ago
Yet another problem with vinyl. I grew up with all those issues. That's why I stopped buying vinyl in the 1980's with the advent of CDs. That's why I reject the polysyllabic pettifoggeriies in defense of vinyl.
"Revolver" won a Grammy for best LP cover of the year. It remains my favorite LP cover to this day.

Best Beatles commentators out there.
Wow, thank you so much for the compliment. We appreciate you very much!

I just got the CD version last week and with the book, it was heavy enough, but I can only imagine the TON the LPs must be.
I wonder if "Revolver" will top the UK and American album charts?
So they got Klaus to design the upper left and right corners of the cover of the book.
The “normal” speed Rain is just insane and just doesn’t seem at a normal speed to me. Crazy
Ringo sounds like Keith Moon.
