The sun seems to dissolve the incredible cloud formations like cotton candy. The Puerto Rico air was just perfect, as the sunrise began. A brilliant combination of blue, orange and yellow fill the sky and gently reflect on the warm tropical water.

I am at McMurdo Station, Antarctica for a whole year, right now I am on month #9. The darkest month of the winter season and I haven't seen the sun or a sunset/sunrise for the past 3 months. I have watched this video 10 times! Thank you for whoever composed this video montage!

I rarely bring back woes of work back home, today was one of those days that took a little longer to decompress. After watching your video, I got up to hug my wife, my eldest daughter, my eldest son, my youngest daughter and my little 4 month old baby boy. Beautiful. I live on a hill with 360 degree view. Our house is in the middle of 40 open acres with a 20 + mile view, so we get beautiful sunrises and sunsets depending on the weather. I have a friend that only lives 17 miles away and never sees a sunrise or a sunset from his house and he is wide open also. he is in a steep valley surrounded by very high hills and the Sun is only visible in the sky for 4 or 5 hours a day. It's light out but it takes that long for him to see the sun . Rarely sees a rainbow . I guess it's fine because he could not care less .

i was absolutely hooked all the way thru, then at the end with that slow down splash i was absolutely excited, you need to play with that A LOT more, my heart skipped beats dude that was super super awesome, lots of timelapse on my chan too btw, i love you work

Thanks Gary- Yeah I do a lot of other film and photography for work, but time lapses are a fun way to just capture and create as an artist.
I've used several different cameras. This particular one was a Panasonic HPX170 and also a Canon 60D, both just shooting video and speeding up in post. But a lot of the other ones are using a Canon 5D mark iii using a time to shoot a series of still photos. Hope this helps...
I've been downloading pictures of sunset across the globe for quiet a while now and that's what brought me here. I don't know what's about me that I love it so much that It feels like something is being sent down to my soul when I'm looking at it. I happened to see it from what they call the best or one of the best beaches in the philippines while stand up paddleboarding and that was wow. that could've been more cheezy with someone hehehe, nice job bro!

Great Job! I have the good fortune of taking the time to watch the beautiful sunsets to completion here in the Philippines. I have attempted to make time lapse vids but but with my limited hardware and software they are not that great. Your vids are stunning and must bring you much personal satisfaction being able to capture your experience so well.
I'm exited to be getting a real camera, the gopro while great for what it is intended for does not satisfy my growing desire to accurately capture and share the beauty of nature.
Oh I'd love to visit the Philippines someday. I'm so sorry to hear of the tragedy that has struck your great country though, I helped raise support for relief.
Yeah the good news is cameras are getting better and better and cheaper and cheaper. The GoPro is pretty decent quality, but the biggest problem is no manual exposure- you have to have that for changing light.

Great suggestion, thank you! I've been able to get that smooth water effect on darker water shots like at dusk, when I'm able to take the shutter speed to like 1/4 or 1 second. Do you have a specific brand of ND filter to recommend? I just don't want to loose any quality with cheap glass in front of my L lenses.

Hey thanks, yeah I was just kinda experimenting with that fast to slow, and it just seemed to work just right- allowing the viewer to almost stop in time and experience that moment.
Just checked out your time lapses as well- that's some cool effects you use. Reminds me of a filter in photoshop- can't think of the name...
