A really key point that every review misses is that The EV6 (all models) don't have Kia Connect in Australia, and won't be getting it either.

We had the same toss up and went Ioniq 6. Why? Wait times indeed earlier this year. And headroom is not an issue for small people so we're fine. Boot space? Also fine for our needs as we don't haul a lot of stuff. If both were in stock, I would go EV6 just because it is more practical.

I wonder if the Kia interior might start to date sooner.

I don't mind the EV6 but the price is a bit crazy. I saved myself about $40k and bought an MG4.

Much prefer the look of the Ioniq 6.

Apples and Oranges: These are not direct competitors. The better and more relevant comparison is the Ionic 5.

Hyundai is pronounced as Hun-day like Sunday. Hyundai ran ad campaigns for years about the pronunciation after they entered the US market. I chose between the Ioniq 6 and EV6 and am now driving the Kia EV6. I hate a droopy bum which is why the Ioniq 6 looked ugly to me in person. Great overview, well done.

      Pronounced Hy-un-dy in Australia.
      Hee-yun-day in Korea?

You can switch off all the beeps. It is a safety setting. It is frustrating to hear people grumble about something then grumble that it goes away when they turn off.

To be fair, people complain because they have to turn the concert off every time, not that it goes away. Turning off the SLW in the Hyundai makes the car silent, and real warnings are not ignored like in a beeping concerto.
It's just not very convenient to navigate menus every time yo enter the car to disable something that distracts while driving.
While this is a EU regulation, Hyundai only cared to implement the MUST regulations, but none of the MAY regulations that are meant to make the MUST regulations sensible and bearable.

Based on looks alone, I prefer the Hyundai, but as far as practicality the Kia takes it because of the trunk space

From western Canada, and have a '23 Chevy Bolt EUV which I like a lot for the low price.
I'm surprised at how much I like the look of the Ioniq 6; it looks like a sleek Euro sedan to me. I like the hatch of the EV6 more, but I'd be happy with either car.

Ioniq 6 is a 4-door saloon. It is more natural, beautiful, more efficient, lighter car with longer range and better performance than crossover Kia ev6 or any other crossovers.

@smovol1847 -- I just read that the ioniq 6 rwd is one of the most efficient evs made.

Hyundai ioniq 6 is much more better looking car. Literally every saloon is better looking thing that that stupid pointless crossovers.

Couldn't agree more in an age where everyday all I see is stupid oversized suvs that only get used for the school run. I went with the ioniq 6 because I hate to be boring and following the same old trend. We need to bring back the old norm where cars didn't have to be jacked up all the time.

EV6 is really equal to Ioniq 5? You are comparing a so-called suv with a car. Pointless comparison?

    • @Drivecomau
      @Drivecomau  7 месяцев назад +1

We've compared the EV6 and Ioniq 5 previously (you can check that out at www.drive.com.au/reviews/2022-hyundai-ioniq-5-v-kia-ev6-comparison/ ) but as the newest arrival, and given the EV6 is somewhat more hatch-like than a utilitarian SUV, we thought this would be an interesting comparison inits own right.
