Sony PC Woofer Blowout

If you don't like mindless speaker overloading then this video probably isn't for you. All the details are given in the video - but this woofer was found outside and accidently damaged hence the reason for popping.

Shado Blake I didn't either. But once I blew one, I felt more confident. So far I have blown around 50 speakers and 1 sub. (Approx)

I have a large subwoofer 56 lb motor one side of the coil is blown out, when I connected an amp to it blew the amp but both cools hooked up at that time, do u think I can connect to one coil and throw my 12k car amplifier at it and c it blow?

Daniel Harrell yeah, by all means try your 12k but that is a huge amount of current for its protection circuitry to try and switch when the coil gives. Just be careful!

WdB when this happened to the sub I had an amp go at the same time so Idk if the sub damaged the amp or vice versa last time I hooked both coils it smoked the new amp I replaced the blown one with my 12k is irreplaceable I hate to say I am going to find some cheaper power and try out one coil before i blow my baby I would probably collapse of I blew my za12kw

for a pc speaker it could be far more worse, decent surround (rubber instead of foam) and the coil isnt too bad either. but it stil is and stil remains a SONY pc speaker...
btw nice smoke show and i was suprised by the power handling because i thought it was going to blow in the first second. but it held up for a minute.

I’ve seen these in a couple of Sony products. Not the best quality but made some nice smoke!
