- today we're going inside the fitting room at TARGET! (is it still cute in 2024?!) i've been seeing so many viral tiktok videos of the girlies inside the fitting room at target for spring and summer 2024, so i had to check it out for myself and report back! 🫡 target is one of the more size inclusive retailers, most of the womens/juniors brands they carry range from size xxs to size 4X. so i thought i'd pick out a few cute spring & summer outfits in a size 16 and try them on for you! we've got denim shorts, summer dresses, literal reformation dupes, and more! hope you enjoy xoxoxo

You have found your colour girl, that pink is such a nice compliment to your skin tone and hair colour! You already have that blue old navy dress that looks similar to this style but watch out for future items in that shade!

I promise im not trying to be annoying but just a fun fact, crochet actually can't be mass produced so if you're seeing an item similar in stores, its knit 💕
It can't be done by machines but it can still be mass produced by humans. I crochet and knit and while a lot of what is called crochet in stores isn't actually crochet some of it still is. A good example are the granny square sweaters that were popping up in stores a few summers ago. Granny squares are always crocheted and therefore can only be done by hand.
I promise I'm not trying to dunk on you or anything, I'm just very passionate about my fiber crafts. It's tough to say for sure without a close up shot of the fabric but 60/40 on whether that's crochet or knit. It does look like crochet but the collar on the shirt and the waist band on the pants are 100% knit ribbing which makes me question it. There is a very obvious seam where the collar has been sewn on the sweater though so I would lean toward the body being crochet and the edges being knit that gets sewn on.

@@glitterberserker1029 Sometimes they are crochet but then that just means someone was overworked and underpaid for that item! An ethically made crochet outfit could and would not be sold for $30

Pro tip for the target app/website: click on the larger sizes to see them in the larger sizes and/or switch to the other size grouping (like where it sometimes has a button that says size group- women’s or size group-women’s plus). Sometimes they alter the proportions slightly for the different size grouping. That 16 is technically women’s sizing and the 17 is technically juniors sizing. So they very well could be different proportions from the product photo of the model in the smaller size. It’s still sold as the same product because the different proportions are meant to look the same on the body types they’re meant for. I think that practice is kind of annoying, but I also understand it’s easier to categorize them as the same product since they are very similar. But anyway thanks for coming to my Ted talk

Hey Carrie! In my experience odd numbered pants is Juniors and even numbered is Women's, at least in the US, and juniors fit much tighter and slimmer. I think a 17 in juniors would be closer to a 14 in womens. So a 16 would correlate closer to a 19 I believe but I could be wrong
I love that you are being so intentional with your purchases. With the exception of basics, it’s nice when you truly love about wearing every item of clothing in your closet. Love the black dress on you. I think it totally works for spring and summer.
