I beg you do one for Yodsaenklai Fairtex. By the way, i've subscribed to your video. I am a tall lanky southpaw and have applied some of your analysis in my sparring sessions. A lot of them work and are very effective. Rule 1 for any serious southpaw : Master your left kick. THAT'S is my number one weapon, even more important than my jab. It's my power strike/range finder/counter/disruptor. It's everything to me and it frightens people. Make it powerful, never waste it, it's a beautiful weapon
This is one of the best breakdowns I've ever seen, really flawless creation man, great work. can't thank you enough!! i am devouring all of this and definitely throwing it into my southpaw game. props to you
Awesome videos. I just learned of your videos doing a search on Samart. I'm a beginner learning Muay Thai and truly appreciate what you are doing for the martial arts community. I can tell you are passionate about learning and teaching. Keep up the great work!
Petrosyan is such a apex fighter. All your videos are soo in-depth & informative, I really enjoy watching them. I’m a southpaw but right footed, would you say it’s good or bad having my power in the lead leg??
If u watch the difference between souwer 1 and 2 he made major adjustments for the latter. This was when petrosyan stepped up his game to another level. And the op should look at Hinata vs petrosyan
Southpaws regularly have better lead control when facing an orthodox because southpaws are always used to training/sparring with orthodox fighters and in most combat gyms, there are like 2 southpaw fighters and the rest are orthodox. I would know this because I am a southpaw lol. Anyway I love the vids keep it up
Matt J I did not "steal his videos." You should know that as a southpaw, lead hand control is no secret. Barry did not invent fighting nor analysis. Claiming that someone "stole a video" also doesn't mean it's stolen.
***** They were also some of the most dominant (KO) fights from both fighters, and some of the most popular via youtube search. I have been selecting these throughout many breakdowns, and that's the trend of the last 5. Thank you for the defence Abram, it's been an absurd few days. I also wonder if he did more than just those fights, but just decided to republish those two to defame me.
Lawrence Kenshin I know the lead hand control is no secret and I watched your video again and noticed it was different from Barry's one. I hope there's no further conflict.
I would love to know why 6 people thought they would thumb this video down. Baffles the shit out of me as I thought this was really informative and helpful. At least the other 162 people don't have the IQ of a toad.
Valerie Moreton He rarely if EVER pivots to the left...how can he pivot to the left from a southpaw stance? He pivots to the right which forces them to reset.
The first mistake was not blocking left leg kick with a knee, that just chopped his thigh then timing established spear knee and ripped him! But Buakaw does it better with switch Knick the right arm and will rendered it useless later for ion head kick!
Do all these techniques apply fairly the same, vice-versa? Can the Orthodox make use of these tactics, except opposite? Ex. Orthodox uses left hook into right low kick to Southpaw's back leg..?
Yes, however there is a lot of double negatives involved, a lot of guessing and forcing you're opponent to react certain ways. Petrosyan's tactics work particularly well on some one like Askerov because he's a very aggressive, heavy style boxer. He's mostly using his own aggressive tendencies against him with simple hard counters.

Another great video. As a southpaw, I particularly appreciate it.

one of the best placed knee- liver shots I've seen.
This is one of the best breakdowns I've ever seen, really flawless creation man, great work. can't thank you enough!! i am devouring all of this and definitely throwing it into my southpaw game. props to you
I love watching Petrosyan at work. He is the slickest Muay Thai fighters to date
hmmmmmmmmmmm
Great as always, Lawrence. You are go-to guy for a great style/fight analysis.
Thanks for this one Kenshin! Orthodox vs Southpaw work is something I've been recently interested in.
Great great video!! Keep doing this man!!

That last knee kick at the end got him right in the liver!!....(!!!(.. Ouch!!.... Another superb striking breakdown by Mr.Lawrence Kenshin.

This video helped out a ton when sparring. I was able to slow down and shut down much of my sparring partner's offense
U need to examine souwer vs petrosyan 1 & 2
thank you very much for posting these VERY informative videos, truly a huge help.
If u watch the difference between souwer 1 and 2 he made major adjustments for the latter. This was when petrosyan stepped up his game to another level.
And the op should look at Hinata vs petrosyan
Grande Giorgio!!! The perfect fighter... Chirurgical Like a "Doctor"👍
great work Lawrence. Followed you since BEFORE Joe Rogan was on your scrotz lol. Cheers!

Oh my, I thought it was someone else who stole your video. Barry you're the master of breaking down fights, followed you from day 1.

Matt J well, that whiny douchebag needs to delete his comment. Besides, his analysis is pure shit compared to this one.
Great videos man

Nice video! Does anyone know the name of the first song?
Thank ou so much my friend!
How do you defend against an uppercut if your guard is extended like this?
Nohb'dy 11 with your reflex. These techniques are not for beginners who can't see what's coming
Great insight
Would Petrosyan be considered a good counter puncher?
Dunno about good. Maybe the best ever in his rule set
what is the name of the first song
What ever happen to Giorgio Petrosyan? He's an awesome fighter.
That's what I'm talking about! 👊😎
Did he ever fought Buakaw or tenshin
As well i believe u should emphasize why petrosyan pivots to the left with orthodox fighters. I believe it's because they have to reset

Petchmorrakot vs him is gonna b lit 🤯
Left ,right leg stands in front. Makes a hole lot of difrence

But Buakaw does it better with switch Knick the right arm and will rendered it useless later for ion head kick!
thx you
The sitmonchais literally kick away with low leg kicks with ZERO fear of shin dmg. HOW?
Perfect
Probably cracked a rib with that last knee holy shit
💪💪💪
Anyone else here 7 years later because of @fighttips?
That had to hurt like a ...

Daniel Le Huray Well said. Giorgio's style is essentially geared towards shutting down aggression.
