According to the IDB (2024), “Public debt load in the Caribbean has fallen sharply to near pre-pandemic levels,” and is described as “‘weakly’ sustainable.” Caribbean governments therefore need to continue to implement strategies and policies to reduce the risks of debt distress. In collaboration with the IMF Caribbean Regional Technical Assistance Centre (CARTAC), CARICAD will be presenting this webinar on ‘Public Debt Management - What Every Public Sector Manager Needs to Know.’ Attendees will deepen their understanding on what is public debt, public debt management, the role of public debt instruments, and how this impacts public expenditure and the role of every public sector manager.
