If you like shimmers and are ok with them, that one Dracula ink by wearingeul that everyone's been talking about would be the perfect match for this resin! The chatoyant red parts are glorious, but I think it's the deep blue particles that bring this pen all together!! I love contrasts in a pen. Congrats on your new pen, Simone!
Thank you so much, Lao! I need to try that shimmer ink. I've seen it multiple times, but now that you mention it, it might be worth a try.
This pen reminds me of cut up strawberries and blueberries, for some reason. Pretty 😍
Ah, that sounds lovely and now I want some.
Beautiful pen!!
Thank you for sharing Simone :)
My pleasure 😊
Hearing the word 'Gluwein' brought back so many fond memories of when I spent Christmas with a friend in Germany. She introduced me to all the different Christmas market treats.
Ah, how awesome! What was your favorite?
I adored trying freshly friend, warm mutzenmandeln and spicy, chocolate-covered lebkuchen. The warming foods were great as I was unaccustomed with the snowy German winter.@@seemownay
Great video! I love to hear your excitement when you gushed over the color of the pen color in the middle of the video! It made me so happy for you! I want all the Esites!! ♥️🐓🖋️
Thank you so much!
Nice new pen! I agree that the color would be a good pen for winter months.
Definitely!
Kudos on the new Estie, I also have the Estie in the same finish, but with a Journaler nib. Love it for writing letters.
Congrats!
Kudos on the new Estie, it's a beauty. I love using De Atramentis inks and have done so fine and extra fine pens. I use De Atramentis Fog Grey, which is a blue greyish color ❤. I keep my Platinum Carbon in a dedicated drawing pen that I keep in my art kit.
Thanks for sharing!
lovely pen, thanks for sharing
It's such a great color.
I have been looking at this pen a lot, it’s definitely one I am adding at some point! It’s between this and the sea glass…
This one is definitely more saturated.
Sometimes I wish I liked pens with rounded ends, but I guess I'm glad that there something that will keep me from wanting ALL the pens. 😅
I have tried the De Atramentis Document Brown and love it. I had it in a 2ml sample and loved it so much I bought a bottle. I received samples (random picks from Goulet) of Document Green and Document Red Black..I haven't tried them yet.
Thanks for sharing!!
I have DeAtramentis document black dedicated to my vanishing point matte black (f) and I love it. I have carbon black cartridge in a platinum desk pen and I use it more than I expected I would. I haven’t tried the green black or other color document inks but I would like to. The Estie is very pretty.
I'm testing the three inks right now and the Black is winning by a mile. It might be because it's in my current favorite journal pen with the reverse architect nib.
For drawing, I have recently standardized my palette on 13 De Atramentis Artist Inks, which seem to be identical to their Document inks. To me they behave identically. I want both waterproof and fade proof. This is a fine, well-behaved, wet ink, assuming the colors work for you. OTOH, the yellow, cyan, magenta and black can be used to mix colors, in the CMYK manner. I am very relieved to be done shopping for new colors, which I found more frustrating than enjoyable.
I am currently very tempted to just stop my search right there because I'm still very drawn to black. And why step out of my comfort zone if I don't have to. I'd rather be consistently sketching and journaling than getting hung up on finding other inks that might work.
Would love to know what twsbi pen that is and what nib you have in it! Love the line variation in it
It's a TWSBI Mini in black and it has a reverse architect nib ground from a B nib by Kirk Speer of penrealm on it.
One of my Estie's came with a nib that the tines were misaligned. I reached out to Atlas and they responded very quickly and they had Esterbrook send me a new nib and it was all very quick. They sent me a new nib and all was good.
That's so awesome to hear!
I have been using DeAtramentis Document Black as my standard black since january 2021 an it seems to me that it did have an effect (color change) on my lamy ef nib in black and also but less visible on my twsbi eco ef nib. its my dedicated pen for black ink so i am not bothered but maybe helpful for someone to know. also i barely clean that pen so maybe with more cleaning the effect is less noticeable.
Thanks for pointing that out. I am using it right now and it's a lovely ink.
I tried the document inks in an EF and it was too too wet! I then tried Rohrer & Klingner document, which was better, but still a bit too wet. In the end I gave up and went back to Platinum Carbon.
I like the Document Black (in the reverse architect with the extra extra fine nib) but none of the others make me want to use them. So I might stop this experiment before it really started.
Have you ever tried Rohrer&Klingner SketchINK?
Not yet, I have some samples, but haven't used them yet.
