    A lightweight tomahawk with a hammer poll and non-angled (or slightly angled), primary edge. Weight of around 13ish ounces and about the same in length. A more durable handle would be ideal, but a full tang is not a requirement (or even desirable, in some cases). I've considered a wooden tomahawk handle with a rat tail tang burned into it and epoxied on but that seems a bit manpower intensive.

      That’s an excellent size and weight for a tomahawk

    you are very busy. definitely a lot of interesting products is coming. suggestions: 1) personally, for me the most interesting would be a folding machete; "knives" are also an area where your lineup lacks punch. 2) I don't know if you've seen those sap wallets (google "coin purse sap" and look for ones that go around the belt). I've bought a few, but they are all terrible quality. I'd very much like one that is top quality and is tightly next to body (usually the part that goes around the belt is not flush with the belt). It's just functional, not talking self-defence. 3) I'd very much like to see your take on a fixed blade with handle that acts as storage (rambo). 4) variation on stone disk war club. I am thinking that the disk could be inline with the handle, so you'd essentially get a blunt axe. 5) a necklace or bracelet - don't roll your eyes- there is a viking whetstone pendant necklace, a paracord bracelet with a knife, a necklace with firesteel.... - needs to be something that is (semi) useful like those examples (not leatherman bracelet). this would allow you to reach more people, broaden your customer base, which is easier if it's something cool, relatively cheap (under 30-40$) and useful. If you mass produce it and sell it on "survival" sites it would also serve as advertising. edit: "stone disk war club" ofcourse wouldn't be made out of stone; also it just hit me, one side of the disk could be blunt and the other could be sharp, and you could have kydex sheat for the sharp side; in self-defence situation you could leave the sheat on and use it as a club or take it off and use it as an axe. I think it could be great multifunctional product. I know I'd buy it.

      Really appreciate you taking your time with these suggestions. We are tip-toeing into knives and I have been interested in the style of folding knives where the blade is longer than the handle-like the WW2 era “pilot survival” folding machetes. So something like that could be pursued in the future. And the hollow handle Rambo knives are on the to-do list-we’ve sketched out concepts that are pretty radical and those will be pursued nearer-term than the “folding machete” type concept. I like the suggestions on “soft” products-like the sap wallet or necklace or bracelet. I will need to survey what’s on the market to determine where the capabilities and aesthetics presently are at, and if we believe we can create something distinct in this space. I will also ponder the “stone disk” concept-it would seem there could be a lot of space to incorporate some clever functionalities but will need to hand sketch a bunch to see what jumps out. Best regards.

One good multipurpose hiking stick would be interesting. it could expand your audience. something for hiking, snake and small mammals defence and making fire in one.

      For sure illegal here, but instead of a sword-cane, I've always wanted a spear-cane; OTF blade extending from the tip of a cane, with the slide/button near the top.

    I'm really excited about your secret Tomahawk and I hope that it can be thrown. Tommy Moore does a lot of things with saps and blackjacks. Could you imagine a small tomahawk sap. Maybe at the head a flexible controllable by the thumb tool. Perhaps even a tomahawk push dagger sap. The blade between the fingers? Imagine if it was customizable maybe even Deployable from the cross draw of the belt. What about some threads even a Karambit bill or kama twist in the head. Those leather braids are outstanding.

    • @matthewmorris6378

      @@wingardwearables for MD it is Title 4, Subtitle 1, § 4-101. "Star Knife" could be a hang-up unless you can get around "a device used as a throwing weapon, consisting of several sharp or pointed blades arrayed as radially disposed arms about a central disk". ""Weapon" includes a dirk knife, bowie knife, switchblade knife, star knife, sandclub, metal knuckles, razor, and nunchaku."
      As for PA, I am still learning. I thought I read it was illegal to carry a knife unless it was for a "lawful" purpose, but some changes were made to knife laws in early 2023.
      In both states, anything with a blade that folds into the handle is exempt.

    • @wingardwearables
      @wingardwearables  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@matthewmorris6378 Maryland’s “star knife” was written to specifically to ban “ninja stars”. I don’t think the full tang tomahawk would quantify. It features a single blade and pointed spike/chisel projections. None are “radially disposed arms around a central disk”. It’s clearly an axe-like design, not a throwing star. Although this could function as a throwing weapon-and be a lot more effective at it vs a “ninja star”- it is designed for bushcraft/utility applications (“common lawful purpose”). I think whether you get in trouble would be due to the individual law enforcement officer’s interpretation, and again I am not a lawyer.
      PA knife laws are actually quite good-recent legislation (passed in 2023) removed a lot of problematic language (see link below). However, PA does not have state supremacy, so in Philly, you cannot carry a knife/“cutting instruments” without “lawful” purpose going to and from your job, etc. This is similar in strictness to New Zealand knife laws, and actually stricter than UK knife laws. Very hard to legally carry a blade in Philly. However, there are presently no restrictions on spikes, so our Quills and DickPicks, lacking cutting edges, are not knives and are not cutting instruments, and also clearly have common lawful purposes.

    Great work! Personally I'm a huge push knives fan and I've been carrying them for over 5 years. I suppose due to legal factors push daggers aren't popular enough in modern edc self defense options. I'm sure there would be market for them (Cold steel safe makers line holds up until today for over 15 years straight - that says something) - what about creating something between push dagger and Katar dagger, that would have wide blade and grip support and still be light and short enough to be carried comfortably? I got the idea as you mentioned carrying big bladed weapon in a comfortable way on a daily basis.

    • @wingardwearables
      @wingardwearables  4 месяца назад +1

      I am also a fan of push knives, but found that the ergonomics on most of them are bad. Also the length is pretty limited-hard to go much beyond 4” before requiring additional support (like seen on the Katars). Years ago I designed a short knife that could function both as a push dagger and a “thumb” or “lapel” knife. I may need to revisit that concept.

      Thank you and I hope you enjoyed the videos. We are slowly trying to improve video and sound quality. Also best of luck with your Thumper design. The long steel rods are fairly affordable, just a few bucks. If I had to make a “flat” warclub again, I might explore higher momentum, maybe go with a tungsten heavy alloy rod (the heavy alloy, not the brittle tungsten carbide). That would pack even more momentum into the impact zone, but those are an order of magnitude more expensive. So it’s probably more affordable to simply drill and insert more steel rods to get the mass up. Best of luck and if you make a video, please link to it in a new comment so that we see it. Sometimes we don’t get notified by comment replies. Have a great time.
