@@Void_Wars Halo Reach has a great Story. However, i can understand why some despised the story as it didn't fit well with the original Fall of Reach Novel.
We need an ODST Sequel/Prequel that goes back to the battle of Reach in the eyes of Buck. It'll go more in depth with the horror of Reach's invasion and maybe how he met Dare and his old squad. It would be a really good game focused on character development and I feel like 343 could nail it.
Better don't let 343 do that. They could never nail anything. Just look at the story and characters of 4 and 5... And now compare to odst. 343 is not able to hit the balance between telling and showing. They don't have a skills for smart and subtile details.

This was my first introduction to the Halo franchise and I couldn't be happier that it was. Halo odst was the first Halo game! I remember playing split screen with my brother creeping through the dark streets of new mambasa. It's a very memorable game especially the firefight.
I played this only once back when it first came out and I remember love/hating it. I just started playing it again a few days ago and I can’t believe how much I love this game! Truly a masterpiece in every way from making you feel alone and vulnerable, the depressing and hopeless atmosphere, the music, the characters and their stories to the background characters like the city’s AI and Sadie. I would love to see more Halo games branch out, this is proof that it’s possible and can be successful.
I wish we could get Peter Jackson to do a Halo movie. So long as it's not the District 9 script. Although I am glad Steven Spielberg is making an odd TV show. I'm glad to have any new Halo media.
Amazing video about an amazing game. One of my favorites for sure. When that piano piece drops, I have instant flashbacks. I can’t even imagine what it was like as a citizen or an ODST during the battle of earth...it’s insane to think about.
I first played the game on split screen with my older brothers as a kid. Playing it years later solo on my PC was an experience, as I was just realizing what the game was about. As a kid I was more concerned with mowing down enemies, and didn't even realize the whole game was even about finding your team. I'm currently trying to find all the audio logs, so I can unlock the "secret ending" I've heard about.
Crazy how when we were kids we didn’t fully appreciate that amazing work of art that this game was. I played it with sisters boyfriend, split screen, on his Xbox. He’s no longer around, they’ve been separated for many years and we’ve lost contact But whenever I play this game it reminds me of those fun times. Halo 1-3 were just a different era of gaming, focused fun with friends over all. Thanks for sharing your story my friend.
This is my new favorite channel on RUclips. Halo has been apart of my life since 2002, when I worked my ass off and bought me an Xbox. 2004 I was stationed in England and Halo 2 was a great way to help ease into Military life. Halo 3 was just an amazing game that really brought out everything I loved about gaming. Sadly, I have not played Halo 4 or Halo 5. I just got a series S in February and I am playing through Master Chief collection. Thanks for the content , your Halo 3 retrospective really tugged at my heart.
One of my favorite gaming moments was me playing with my cousin in co-op. I really felt like playing with him added to the experience and we pulled off one of the greatest ambushes ever! Neither of us took any damage, with coordinated grenade throws and point blank gunfire from multiple directions. It was over in seconds, and is a moment he and I have never forgotten. When I get my PC, this will be a, “Buy” for sure. Who knows, maybe he and I will play again!
Such a madly underrated Halo channel. The content on here is the best any Halo fan can provide to the masses and done in such a professional way in narration.
I played Halo 4 for the first time recently and it felt like a chore. I just wanted to get it over with and when I was done, I decided I'd never play it again. Then I played ODST for the first time, somehow avoiding spoilers all these years since I just saw it as expensive Halo 3 DLC but it left me wanting more. I wanted to explore the entire city and find everything there was to find so, I ended up playing it again right after the credits rolled. They're both pretty short games but nothing in the Halo franchise can compare to the atmosphere and overall feel of ODST. It's now one of my favorite Halo games and it's a shame so many people, myself included, didn't even give it a chance when it came out. I'm glad it's included in the MCC so everyone that has any interest in Halo can experience this unexpectedly amazing masterpiece of a title.
I played it co op my first time through with my cousin and it’s one of my fondest memories with him. Granted, we weren’t yelling at each other we were more or less role playing and trying to strategize and stuff. Now it doesn’t feel the same playing it without him. Good times.
ODST Task Force Alpha-9, designated "Last Hope" unit has entered the facility. All personnel are advised to stay in the evacuation shelters or any safe area until the facility is secured.
Odst is easily my favorite halo game. I adore 1-3 but something about the scrappy and human story told by odst resonates with me more than the high to the sky bombastic action that the rest of the franchise is known for. I need a sequel to this game so badly, whether or follows the old characters or new ones I don't care.
I don't know what it is, but when it comes to my favorite Halo, it was always ODST. (Reach being my 2nd pick) Mainly, just something about the intro always draws me in; to the point that every year I'll re-play it just to re-watch the intro. This combined with the Rookie's portions of the story, always fills me with a sense of nostalgia that few things do. My only complaint with the game itself, was the fact a majority of it was spent playing as other characters and not the previously mentioned ODST.
I was so dedicated to this game and halo 3. I remember at 12 years old getting all the achievements for h3 and ODST. Those vidmasters were challenging yet so fulfilling when I finally received the infamous recon armor! Good times 🥲
playing this game was one of the best experiances ever. in one night i beat the whole game on legendary, nonstop. the whole time it was actually night time but the last level the sun started rising. it felt like i was in the game, no one was awake, no noises, no distractions, only the screen.
I remember spending hours with my older brother on this game, whether it was trying to find all the audio logs or trying to get all the Firefight achievements for every map. I love this game, and it will always have a special place in my memory.
This game like someone said on Reddit "Really is one of a kind in the franchise." The soundtrack really is the best out of all of them in the entire history of Halo. It went from an underrated spinoff, to a masterpiece.
My best memories of halo are either the numerous times I played the campaign of halo CE because we didn’t have good enough internet to play online, or the hours spent system linking ODST in my friends basement and getting to the point where getting out of a vehicle was instant death.
ODST is one of my favorite Halo games. I remember it being visually and acoustically stunning. I hope one day they remake ODST (and all the other Halos) the same way they did for Halo 2 with amazing movie quality cut scenes
The first halo game I remember playing is halo 3 with my cousins while I was visiting them in Saint Louis. Before that I hadn’t even known there was a halo 3 because I had only really watched my dad play the first two, I was only 9 or 10. Afterwards the first thing I did when I got home was convince my dad to buy me ODST, going from the fast paced action style of halo 3 to the slow explorative noir gameplay of ODST was a massive surprise. I don’t think I’ve ever had more fun playing a game and I don’t think any two games have influenced my tastes more than Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST.
Firefight with friends was the highlight. The fact there was no matchmaking made it weirdly satisfying to be able to play multiplayer with others. Fun achievement hunts too.
I came into this game as a young teen having read and watched and flipped through every piece of EU content there was at the time pre-glasslands and forerunner saga where it started to really open up and become more abstract in it's exporation, just old enough to get a tenuous grasp of the larger elements and themes at play in Halo while still young enough to get swept up in naive wonder completely, so I think the thing I most appreciated about this game is that it was the first real dive into the human side of things that Halo 3 didn't really get into. Before then there was obviously the big exploration of Covenant politics and divisions between the ruling classes and "followers" of the pact, political intrigue and conspiracies in Halo 2. What we saw in ODST was that but from the human side, I'd been reading for a while about how the supposed united human front was equally this machine full of cogs grinding and plotting against eachother, so it was incredible to me to see those threads pop up and play out in familiar locations to my minds eye, to hear names and experience the types of characters I'd only read about from a first person perspective. After reading the words "Feet First Into Hell", to live that experience fully realised to a young mind is something real special to me. Looking back it was such a gamble, army man beats up alien combined with the brooding atmosphere and story of a classic film noir tale, definitely paid off in spades for me. Now to watch the video and live it all over again.
Man these videos are amazing, SameToken not only loves Halo but has some real editing/directing chops to boot. Someone hire this man to be involved in 343 please
Halo ODST was actually the 2 halo game I played, It definitely holds a place in my heart. Halo Reach and ODST put a good taste in my mouth for the games to come. and I still tear up when I hear that song. anyways, stay safe everyone and have a great day.
OMG I get this game (MCC) a week ago and cleared ODST only once on Legendary. This is the best Halo game I have ever played. I am definitely will clear it many more times :3
Honestly, most halo games haven't aged that well to me. Maybe it's because I came in during the reach era, but of all the halos, reach, 4, and ODST are the campaigns that truly stuck with me. ODST especially because it went from a bombastic awesome fight against aliens, to a somber, reserved, down to earth (haha) story about how much humanity is struggling with their survival. The "we are losing" in the opening set the entire tone, and went with it. Plus the small semi open world is very fun to explore, and we still have the linear courses with the squad mates. Reach has a similar atmosphere, which is why I loved that as well.
ODST is one of my favourite Halo games, partially because it was my first, and partially because it's so different from the rest of Halo. I can't say I have a true top favourite, but if I did, this game would definitely be a contender for that top spot.
Watched this, then immediately me and friend played through it on legendary in a single sitting. We got all the audio logs and finished in under 3 hours till 5 in the morning. What a great time we had. Still my favorite Halo.
I get a lot of crap from people when I say that ODST is my favorite halo game/ video game in general. Some people don’t understand that a character’s vulnerabilities are what make them compelling. And making a sudo-open world halo game turned out amazing. It is very apparent that the team had more fun making ODST than any other title. Martin O’Donnell is who I wanna be when I grow up.😅
its really nice to see this channel grow bit by bit every new vid, you can tell that there is a crazy amount of effort put into these vids, whether it be editing, researching the topics or even recording the voice lines. This content is filled to the brim with personality and interesting info about the halo universe it just makes my day whenever one of these vids come out. So SameToken, please carry on doing what you are doing.
I picked ODST up at a midnight launch and stayed up all night while it rained playing it! One of my favorite Halo memories! Everything about this game really struck a chord with me at an important time in my life. Really liking your deep dives, Token! Keep up the great work mate!
Amazing retrospective! Touched on so much of the development process and what made ODST -- ODST! I can't think of any other game besides Reach that made me feel the way ODST made me feel. Bungie went out with their damn best!
I used to only like huge fight scenes, and huge scripted sequences, but now I feel ODST is truly a masterpiece, I really now enjoy the detective work and atmosphere, and it switches to adrenaline pumped flashbacks at the right times, making it fun to play both parts, u won't get bored of looking for clues, nor blasting aliens like the other halo games.
15:26 I was at that launch event in Seattle, dressed up in some ODST armor I'd built for the occasion. It wasn't a very good ODST costume in retrospect, being as rushed as it was, but I'd improved it in the following years. There are some pictures of me on the old Bungie site that they took there.
Played this back when it first came out and loved it, but as a child I didn't have the skill to play it on harder than normal. A few months ago ODST became the first Halo game I beat on Legendary! After that was Halo Reach and I'm half way through Halo 2 now on legendary. Such a great series that has stood the test of time. So far though (infinite might change my mind) ODST has been my favorite Halo game.
Love me some ODST. Definitely has the best writing and characters in the series. Also the best music, Skyline in particular is like top 5 best Halo songs.
HALO 3 ODST is just perfect in my eyes. The atmosphere is something I have never seen before in any game really, or at least in most games it's not done as well, sometimes tho games can pull it off pretty well, considering that bungie didn't make games like these I am very impressed by their adaptability.
Halo ODST, halo wars and halo wars two truly show how vulnerable humanity was when fighting the covenant when your not a Spartan. At the same time it shows humanity spirit of never giving up when faced with adversity. No matter the odds we will always fight tooth and nail for homes are family and for the soldier standing next to us, whether were super soldiers or not.
I like how Bungie never let go of ideas, not forcing them in if they didn’t work, but always looking out for the opportune moment an old idea could make it in to the franchise. The engineer of ODST and reach, for example, was supposed to be there since day one but was initially scrapped. Now 343 seems to finally be co to Hong this with wildlife on a halo. We can only hope for the best

I played it co op my first time through with my cousin and it’s one of my fondest memories with him. Granted, we weren’t yelling at each other we were more or less role playing and trying to strategize and stuff. Now it doesn’t feel the same playing it without him. Good times.
Martin's Piano and Jazzy Vibes was the glue that put this project together so nicely...
Wow what a great Video! Great job. It hit on all things that made ODST my favorite Halo Game since Halo CE.
This is one of my favorite Halo Games, the music, the story, the gameplay.. I just love it no matter how underrated it is to some.
I remember spending hours with my older brother on this game, whether it was trying to find all the audio logs or trying to get all the Firefight achievements for every map. I love this game, and it will always have a special place in my memory.
Its so fun playing as an odst. Fighting 2 hunters by myself on legendary was actually a bit challenging and not too easy
Don Mattrick cutting Halo from E3 is the most Don Mattrick thing ive ever heard of
How could I have forgotten about how beautiful the Halo universe is? Thank you for this video, I'm plugging my Xbox back in this weekend!
This game like someone said on Reddit "Really is one of a kind in the franchise." The soundtrack really is the best out of all of them in the entire history of Halo. It went from an underrated spinoff, to a masterpiece.
The music, the streets at night, the rain... of all the amazing Bungie Halo games, ODST was hands down the most atmospheric and the most nostalgic.
Halo 3 ODST was my first game I ever played on my Xbox 360 and hearing that theme song after so many years really hits home
I haven't played when it came out, but playing it on MCC, it was great along with the additions that could be made with halo 3's engine. Good video.

That trailer was probably my favorite game trailer of all time. I didnt want it to end.
Halo 3 has always been my all time favorite. But ODST is right behind it. The campaign was such an amazing experience and the music is unmatched.
Man these videos are amazing, SameToken not only loves Halo but has some real editing/directing chops to boot. Someone hire this man to be involved in 343 please
Great video. Halo 3 ODST is one of my favorite games of all time and its nice to see the recognition it deserves.
Only played it this year and it’s one of the most unique experiences I ever had. Couldn’t believe how well it held up
Honestly, most halo games haven't aged that well to me.
Halo ODST is heavily underrated. Tells a much more personal and down to earth story. Those first few missions are the best
ODST is one of my favourite Halo games, partially because it was my first, and partially because it's so different from the rest of Halo. I can't say I have a true top favourite, but if I did, this game would definitely be a contender for that top spot.
Commenting for the algorithm (this game got me into halo)
"Rain" has been my ringtone for like 10 years
I picked ODST up at a midnight launch and stayed up all night while it rained playing it!
The contrast of the same level in a day mission vs the quiet night alone as rookie 👌🏻
I never get tired of saying how much I adore your channel, my love for halo and for your content is the same! Keep up that good stuff ;)
Love me some ODST. Definitely has the best writing and characters in the series. Also the best music, Skyline in particular is like top 5 best Halo songs.
I’d say it’s on par with reach
been replaying this game over the weekend still love this game very close to being my favourite halo instalment
I’m a Sony Pony but I miss playing halo.
Getting my series x very soon !! Already got shipped:)
Can’t wait to replay every halo game 🔥
HALO 3 ODST is just perfect in my eyes. The atmosphere is something I have never seen before in any game really, or at least in most games it's not done as well, sometimes tho games can pull it off pretty well, considering that bungie didn't make games like these I am very impressed by their adaptability.
such a beautiful game will never forget the feeling and music of the game so intimate and a underrated game
This video makes me want to go play some ODST
Halo ODST, halo wars and halo wars two truly show how vulnerable humanity was when fighting the covenant when your not a Spartan. At the same time it shows humanity spirit of never giving up when faced with adversity. No matter the odds we will always fight tooth and nail for homes are family and for the soldier standing next to us, whether were super soldiers or not.
Sadie was a Classic way of bringing me in deep into the game, I enjoy & Love this Halo ODST.
This is not just an underrated halo title in my opinion this is one of those just underrated video games in general. Truly a masterpiece!
My favorite Halo Game of all time right here. It never ceases to amaze. Not only was this game amazing but it also had the best OST.
This game was absolutely amazing and it has been my all-time favorite in the series.
If they ever make a flood game in the same feeling of being alone... I would die happy
I’d die scared but happy lol
Truly terrifying
The music set the tone for this game like no other, unforgettable
