The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Tri (and honestly Trevor too) needed to switch it if they wanted to be medal contenders internationally.
It’s gotta be real rough, but decisions were made for their reasons. Best of luck to them moving forward. Trevor and Theo have been quite a pleasant surprise on the international stage, almost as much as how strong Andy & Miles came out swinging for the fences. I’d wager not many had those two teams making it to the Olympics.
I've actually been more curious about whether Chaim regrets dumping Theo, since my understanding was that Chaim sort of initiated the conversation with Tri. Ultimately Tri probably has the right answer here though: it was a risk, and it hasn't worked out (so far?).
Think they're both probably on the same mind set. Tri was the 2023 AVP MVP, bunch of wins, 2 straight Manhattans, etc. On paper it's easy to see how it would seem to be the right move
@@SANDCASTPodcast For sure, but Chaim and Theo were the ones who got 4th at Worlds previously, and were generally having stronger international results than Tri and Trevor. I wonder whether the idea that among the 4 of them they'd be the top two teams either way played in, and how Miles and Andy breaking out so soon and changing that has impacted their expectations.
Karch/Kent come to mind. Not even sure they were "friends". They just won, a lot, and made serious coin. Perhaps it comes down to goals. I'd think that would be to win tournaments and make money. Tri/Trevor were winning. Regardless, they're all fun to watch. The fans love it.
Honestly when the news broke I thought it was the absolute right decision. I was reallt excited about what you guys might be able to do. But I’ve also entered intermediate tournaments with my 6’5” baller friend where I thought I was going to do well and we sucked lol
He was clearly ready for this, and that is a very politically correct answer. Especially since he is still with Chaim. I would much rather hear this answer in a year after the Olympics are over. He clearly doesn't want to burn the bridge he is only half way across. Tri is great but this was an obvious answer he had to answer this way.
I think he would be better off telling the truth and saying "Yea I regret my decision." Chaim has been playing way worse than Trevor. Anybody that has watched can see that. Maybe if he just said the truth it would help.
Whenever I listen to Tri, I just feel like someone needs to tell him to buck the F up. He is always talking about how stressful it is and how hard the travel is. It honestly can get depressing listening. He quotes a lot of personal growth stuff but I think he would benefit from simply pretending he is 25 and actually get excited about going to these tournaments and playing them. It appears he is going into matches annoyed he has to be there while competing against people that are pumped for the opportunity to be there. That sure seems like a recipe for disaster.
I was literally the lone nut that felt Trevor and Theo was the team that benefited from the marriage of convenience. And I am trying to choose my words carefully here, because we have yet to witness the whole act. I also have to disclose that two of the three male players that I in my fan guilt follow actively? Happen to be on the same team in Theo and Trevor. (Beranek is the third - been a minute since we’ve seen him)
I don't get why you guys bash Volley Talk. You say "nobody should go on there". Bashing your top fans that will watch anything and actually care to talk about volleyball. These are people that genuinely care about the game and are watching everything. You say you never read it but you bash it at the same time. It is basically the only place you can find real time info about what is happening.

Agreed

Good point. Theo def the one with some nice finishes overall

As Kent likes to say: "Winning solves a lot of problems."
Solid Jocko Willink & Leif Babin reference. Huge respect for Tri this year.
We LOVE us some Jocko. "GOOD" is the mantra around here

hahaha this is an awesome comment
Glad they switched , trevor is so fun to watch right meow! Him and Theo crushing it!!! ❤

From the great words of taylor Averill, every setback is an opportunity to improve yourself.
I like that one!

We can bring it back up in 2025 and see what he says!

Love the Reign Storm hat!!
As do we!

We’ll see what the new year brings after an off season of some likely hard reflection on this season…

Would love to see Beranek finally healthy again!
you weren't the only one Jason, I thought the same too (this has been documented), #ForeverTrevor
Don't criticize the man in the arena.
Love a good Teddy reference
Volley classy.
😉
Tri should go back to AA.
What does that even mean 😆

Can you find no reason why players find VolleyTalk ridiculous 😆
