I think that George unlike Paul was a natural actor and more comfortable when delivering his lines. He probably didn't take it too seriously that allowed him to enjoy his role. Dick Lester felt Paul tried too hard to act
How Great is George in this scene? Never took an acting lesson in his life. Bottom line -- each Beatle was so compelling on screen, the camera loved them. The films director said George was the best, acting wise and that whatever he was called upon to do he nailed it, like the shaving scene in the bathroom mirror. But this scene with the ad agency guy and the hot secretary is the best!
A Hard Day's Night is a 1964 musical comedy film starring the English rock band the Beatles-John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr-during the height of Beatlemania. It was originally released in the United States on August 11, 1964 by United Artists. The film was a financial and critical success and was nominated for two Academy Awards including Best Original Screenplay. Forty years after its release, Time magazine rated it as one of the 100 all-time great films.
How I would have ended this scene: Simon makes a comment about booking the Beatles. Adrian says he doubts Simon can book them. When Simon asks why he doesn't think he can, Adrian replies with "If you treated me like you just treated their lead guitar player, I wouldn't work for you."
The Citizen Kane of rock n roll films... Btw, "she's a trend setter. It's her profession." And almost 60 years later, it goes on. I believe the online term is "influencer," no? Downright prophetic.
Not prophetic, it's just that we are more aware of it now, but it was always like this. People with products using a beautiful young person to sell their grotesque merch
@@VixxKong2 You might have a point but there is one thing. Most people in pop culture who set trends were based in some sort of art form. Boys dressed and wore their hair like The Beatles or other rock stars because they wanted, to some degree, to emulate their talent and appeal. Influencers aren't entertainers. The Kardashians (today's best examples) are famous for being famous. They don't sing, dance or act. Just like the "posh bird" in this scene. The Beatles' initial job was to write music and sing. Influencers have no such talent nor are they actually required to!
@@arkady714 Bro let's be honest. Does it really matter that you have talent or not in order to become an influencer? All these tiktok, Instagram, reality tv, RUclipsr, etc.
The actor Kenneth Haigh was worried that appearing in this film would impact on his ability to get further roles! The actor playing Haigh's assistant Adrian was Julian Holloway, son of Stanley, who appeared in the film My Fair Lady and The Lavender Hill Mob.
The first time I saw this, when the girl said, "I've got one," I thought she meant, "I've got one of the Beatles." I didn't realize they didn't know who George was until the guy said, "You don't have to do the old adenoidal glottal-stopping carryon for our benefit." Never picked up that Adrian was trying to tell them "that's George Harrison" until just now.
Simon claims to have his finger on the pulse of British youth, but doesn't even recognize the guitar player of the biggest band in the world at the time...
@divcvetic772 And in the 80s, he wrote a song called The Devil's Radio. These days the devil's radio is the internet. If only George was here to see how it is.

George .... She's a drag a well known drag .... we say rude things about her ... did I say something amiss? Sorry about the shirts... I love George forever and I miss him 😢
IMHO the cutest bit is when the guy says “That’s what you’ll want,” George says “I won’t “, and the guy says “You can be replaced.” Even at this point, George cannot be replaced and he knows it. Which only goes to show that the agent here doesn’t know anything like as much about teenagers as he thinks he does. 😉
Every one of The Lads got a solo section. Paul’s got cut, and ended up on the editing floor. I guess they figured Granddad McCartney gave Paul enough extra attention. (I disagree.) Be that as it may, my opinion is that George had the best section by far!! We never heard George talk much until AHDN. We found out he’s witty, he has perfect ‘deadpan humor’ and if he had been a tad more polite he could have had a career doing commercials with Susan. “And who’s this Susan when she’s a’home?” My favorite section in the film.
Pauls solo section was cut because Dick Lester felt he just couldn't get a natural enough performance out if him away from the others, Lester felt he just tried too hard whilst the other 3 nailed theirs effortlessly
Someone wrote this scene especially for him. The guy who wrote it said, "George is not the quiet one, he was the one who cut the crap and went straight to the point, yeah he was the sensible one".
The truly bizarre thing is that that scene was happening in real life with those kind of people trying to copy that hair style and those clothes that the Beatles had made famous.

I think George had the most pronounced Liverpool accent!
Really?
@@serendavies7375 Yes. His accent is the most 'Scouse' of the four. And he'd lay it on thick as well.
Yes but note that in the final years of his life his Scouse accent was gone and he spoke the Queen's English.
John's Aunt Mimi didn't like George because of his 'common' accent.
Mark Copsey That’s harsh.
It always seems to be George's voice that people copy when they do impressions on the Beatles.
