Brian wrote this song after one of his friends was going through a painful separation/divorce and Freddie just kills it with the emotion he puts into it.

I Believe it was Brian. Putting to lyrics what Brian the Musician & Brian the Husband. & his Relationship with the 3 other Group members. & what it takes to be in show business!!. Then out of this song came " I WANT IT ALL" the words Brian's new girlfriend & future wife. Had no problems going out on tour.

Everything in this performance is just perfection . Freddie’s voice is incredible in this . Roger can play piano too actually. That has got be one of Freddies finest moments. Musically the amount of things those guys could do in between them eqauls about 14 musicians. So they crammed alot of ability into that small band, but the amount of talent on top of that is off the scale. Btw love your hair style!

Some of the best love songs ever written IMHO, are those written by Freddie & Brian. I tear up thinking of the very passionate musical relationship those 2 men had. I know they argued in the studio because they were both perfectionistic, musical geniuses with their own visions.... but what they created is a timeless gift to the universe.
I really love watching young listeners discover Queen’s many talents and still today, reading the other comments here, they are still uniting people from a variety of backgrounds with their work.
Sent by god! Especially now with a Cold Stone Crazy Trump, dividing people and destroying our planet with his dim witted, short-sighted views on the environment. Thank you, Queen, for helping me cope with this dire situation we are all in. 👑=❤️

Rumor has it, Brian was also operating the camera.😉 How many groups can switch instruments in the middle of a song? mega talent. John can play guitar and Roger can play guitar and bass and sing like a lead singer. If he wasn't the drummer for Queen, he could probably be the lead singer of his own group. He has a great voice for rock & roll.

Roger WAS a lead singer of his own group - "Cross" - and has made several soloalbums - the latest - 'Outsider' during lockdown - playing ALL the instruments himself! Brian had his own band 'Brian May Band' where he plays the guitar as well as singing. He too have made solo albums - lately rereleased and he has a solo carrier with Kerry Ellis. He can make his - homebuilt - guitar 'Red Special' sound like many instruments - or a whole symphony orchestra .

Queen played everything and changed with the times and evolved , unlike a lot of bands that stick too one sort of music ...... I saw Queen at CNE Stadium, Toronto on August 30, 1980 and I still have the ticket stub .......... I have worked in promoting and set-up and board sound checks and security for a number of bands in and around Toronto and the province of Ontario and still do ........ Freddie is a great pianist , however in the 80's he refused to play most of times live so they get Spike Edney who was later in Roger's band called The Cross and now he is touring with Queen + Adam Lambert . John Deacon can play guitar and bass , I know that in song Who Needs You he did play acoustic ( he wrote the song too) . Everybody was so talented in Queen , and all of them were perfectionist ..specialy Brian and Freddie who could fight over a lil thing for hours .

From The Game, the Freddie contrasting song for this one comes from News of the World, Spread Your Wings.
Brian wrote several songs for Freddie. Two from Queen II are Father to Son and White Queen (as it began). If you ever get around to reacting those, they are consecutive with no break on the album, plus there is a Brian guitar solo Procession as the first track on Side White.

All of them could play multiple instruments, interestingly the Queen member with the largest guitar collection is Rodger. And John did quite a few rifts on lead guitar in the studio which Brian recond were to difficult to do

Interesting fact. Brian May, CBE, PhD, FRAS is a founding member of Queen, a world-renowned guitarist, songwriter, producer and performer, also a Doctor of Astrophysics, 3D stereoscopic photographic authority and a passionate advocate and campaigner for animal rights.

It reminds me of a love forlorn. A marriage worked at, but it seems, failed. Lyrics a piece of beauty. Good review, dear. I’ll keep looking for them. “ It started off so well They said we made a perfect pair
I clothed myself in your glory and your love
    How I loved you
    How I cried
The years of care and loyalty
Were nothing but a sham it seems
The years belie we lived a lie
I love you till I die”
