Here in NC I had to follow the process, paperwork all the way through. Got mine in 3 months. Everything is so difficult. I love my permobil chair.. wish it was my first chair. I have had it 6 years. Blue Cross was very good for all my chairs.

I would recommend asking to work with the ATP (Assistive Technology Professional) at the provider you are working with. The ATP has additional training and certification and works to translate your physicians order into an equipment solution for you. I have a Permobil F5 and in my opinion they are the best, but you need to be the one to decide what is best for you. Take different chairs (Quantum, Quickie, Invacare, Permobil) out for a demo, try FWD/MWD/RWD. Do not let the supplier pigeonhole you into a piece of equipment that is either more expedient or easier for them to get you approved for. Polite persistence is best, but you are correct they are used to pushing people who around who are either unfamiliar the process or other options out there. Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I wouldn't buy a car like this, so don't appreciate their style of "fitting." I think if I were in a larger market, the buying process may be easier, idk.

I received the same model few months ago. took about 2 1/2 months after initial fitting. My neuro is Aaron boster from the Boster center for ms.
He has patients worldvwide. I had similar issues regarding the tilt function being denied, 1 call tonBoster center and it was resubmitted and approved.. No hassles at all. medicare covered 100%. of chair.
Jason Drey from Numotion was the fitter/sales rep. invoice price was $70k. medicare paid $16k. I was worried shitless about my copay the entire time it was being built, but like I said it was covered in full.
    Cheers ✌🤟

This is terrible. All corporations give lip service about inclusivity and accessibility, but then try to deliberately delay, postpone or outrightly deny you the tool you need for your mobility. I wish you would reveal which insurance company it is so that we can highlight its hypocrisy, and flood them with letters insisting they provide their covered individuals with medically necessary equipment.
