- To commemorate the Princess of Wales on the 25th anniversary of her passing, ITN Archive is presenting a series of clips covering her years of public service between 1980 and 1997.
This clip is taken from the unedited footage - or rushes - of an interview between Diana and ITN's Steve Scott in Angola in January 1997. The Princess of Wales was there with the Red Cross, who were working to clear landmines planted during the Angolan Civil War.

This interview was from January '97, I believe. She was in a stable and loving relationship with Dr. Hasnat Khan, her divorce was behind her and she was on very friendly terms with her ex-husband again and although she was being attacked by British politicians for "meddling in things she didn't understand ', her work for the banning of landmines also made her a serious world figure. What pain are you talking about ?
@297banu The pain and trauma from the past never fully fades away, you can see it in war heroes and people who have gone through war. Even though she was in good place (as far as we know) ultimately the scars of emotional suffering and neglect never fully disappears.

@@mr.drybones What if she just didn't study for it at all ? like she never bothered knowing that she doesn't need to pass a made-up test (it's for working population anyway). She was extremely smart socially and emotionally. Her interviews were revealing of how intelligent she was. People don't love a dumb person. The number of people who cried/ was sad around the globe for her death is enough to prove her intelligence. Most famous personalities die and no one cares; compare that to her funeral.
Truly an enigma for the ages. You can feel the weight of the world she carried in her eyes. Her courageous angelic beauty is forever.
She always stood up to bat no matter what the press asked her. She was intelligent, classy, and beautiful. RIP to our TRUE Princess Diana.

Diana was being criticized for highlighting land mines in January 1997 she was divorced from prince Charles she had her HRH style remove from her when she was divorced in 1996.
@@vanessalouise8988 All That was an introduction to manslaughter the princess and the murder plan was underway to be executed few months later.
You can tell she had reached a point in her life where she was ready to stand up for herself and set boundaries and do what she wanted to do. That's why she wasn't hiding her relationship with Dodi. I do t think it was all that serious, more like a summer fling but she was a divorced woman and allowed to have a live life and wasn't hiding any more.
I thought the same. You can really see the difference in her confidence here vs when she was younger. There’s footage of her being followed by photographers and journalists just before she got married and I felt bad for her because you could see in her face how irritated she was but she remained painfully polite the entire time. She was always hunched over and just so meek, like she needed to make herself small because she probably felt small. It’s unfortunate that her life ended just as she was beginning to live it on her terms.
And narcissistic family structures don’t like that very much.
What a legacy she left for her children to follow may God bless the Royal family. Thanks for sharing 👍
