Long may Max and Pamela reign! ....in spite of his current troubles...what a talent! Maybe he could teach inmates to dance if that’s what happens. A lot of cultural mores have changed so fast that they have gone past some unnoticed and it’s a heartbreaker to loose such a gifted dancer in that unfortunate-for-everyone way. I’m too sad for the Very Best Dancers on the scene....such a joy to watch, as the above is an example.
I watched Whitey's Lindy Hoppers in other videos and it's fast, raw, loose and acrobatic and just amazing. This is smooth and slower and "tidy". I don't know the technical dance terms, that's just the description I came up with. I liked both and this was great to watch, the couple look good together and have a connection. But I think I prefer the original style that I saw of The Lindy Hoppers and wish it was being performed like that today. I Can't seem to find any videos with people today dancing like the original Lindy Hoppers of the '30's, 40's. It seems like it's changed.
whiteys lindy hopper made that powerful clip as performance for a movie recording, and the topic of misusing POC for amusement and having certain expectations of how to dance/move or otherwise to cancel their movie dance scene, stands unsolved (not speaking about the servant cook uniforms in the clip). But of course having only little numbers of black dancers in the lindy community nowadays also is nothing to be discussed here. If you ever dance social and you want to be as acrobatic as in shown Hellzapoppin you will have severe injuries in short time, you may have only 2-3 dances each night .. better relax and have a lots of healthy and fun dances. When having a show act worth while, you can explode, the risk of failing or succeeding in that same lootbox ..
