I feel like I was harsh in my vid when i said i didnt think he was a very good wrestler - he's sloppy in terms of movement but he knew his limits and was great undercard, offering something different especially in the early days when it was about highflying cruiserweights

Well he's gonna b on tv every now and then till he makes his big debut in the Wyatt Family. Funny thing about abyss, Kane I believe is his father in law or uncle through marriage. They are related I just can't remember how. Lol

Joseph Park was a great gimmick on impact. His matches had an entertaining change of pace
Maybe aj request Vince to have Joseph park as manager or some role they give him & I think is a great idea maybe we could see a debut of abyss if wwe allowed that happen. Could u imagine if abyss debut facing the Fiend😱
I like both those ideas. Joseph Park could totally be a heel (who cheers a lawyer?) but the idea that wyatt could unlock abyss and we get a story out of it - sounds awesome

Any 1PW fans remember when Abyss delivered the most memorable matches Main eventing the first show with AJ (who replaced Matt Hardy at the time)? They rolled out the red carpet for the Monster, and he gave it his all. I'm really happy I got to meet Abyss/Chris and get a picture with him, and he let me and my friend hold the championship belt with him. It was the first time I ever heard him talk too, since it was the break and during signing hours where cameras were off.
Abyss is a talented guy , persona definitely!
Did you know Abyss works in creative for WWE. Did you know Abyss was the one behind the idea of the FIEND.
To my knowledge he was a backstage agent - the fiend note is the first I've heard of it

I think since WWE is moving away from the PG-13 era, Abyss could easily fit in and have some great hardcore matches with someone like Jeff Hardy. But I do think since they referred to him by name he'll be on TV more

The reason there's always been so much heat on him is he reported without kayfabe the way bill apter had done before him- his aew bias is really obvious but why wouldn't it be? Before aew launched we as fans spent a good 10 years complaining about how unenjoyable wwe TV was and now he's backing the alternative
I wouldn't call Cardona famous (but I did a video about my opinion of him) - look at comments like that as a positive. People are passionate about the war again - worst thing for the business is people not caring

The issue is WWE doesn't own the Abyss character as Vince McMahon or JP didn't create it so Joseph Park will debut not as Abyss in WWE.
In the early TNA days, it was widely regarded by the internet that Abyss was the best big man wrestler. I don’t know why you don’t think he can can’t wrestle. Not only can he, but he has some of the best wrestling psychology. For a wrestler who didn’t speak as The Monster Abyss, he was very expressive and communicative. Go back and watch some of his feud in TNA with Sabu, and you will see one of the best wrestling angles from the early-mid 2000s.
Fair point- its not that he can't wrestle - its that he is sloppy. He stumbles, he's clunky, and when paired with sabu - who only lost the title of "king of botch" when mistico became sin cara - it didn't help his case. I also was never as big a death match fan as many. When it came to psychology he was also a big part of the no-sell era and I hold a fair amount of that against him - which may not entirely be fair to him
we always expect things but we have to take it for what it is
WWE start to use him as Joseph Park then build up to Abyss & they could have Abyss ether with the Feind or Abyss v Feind feud they could even bring Abyss in to work with Braun Strowman

I'd love to see him wrestle as abyss, but I know it won't happen. His wrestling days are probably over as he's in his mid 40s. But never say never. When aj styles retires he'll be 47 or 48. Who knows what we'll see in WWE.
Sting has wrestled at a much greater age, but Abyss never was that athletic, his good matches are hardcore slow matches

This actually makes me kinda sad. I remember when I was maybe 13-14 so about 14 years ago my family was in Orlando for or yearly March breach trip. That day we were at universal studios and they happened to be filming a future episode of TNA that day. Needless to say I made my mother and older sister sit through a full taping of TNA for about 3 hours when we were supposed to be spending the day in the park 🤷🏻♂️. We ended up leaving early because they taped the “main event” half way through the show because Kurt angle and to leave or some shit any way. Leaving Abyss was in the back by the merch stand walking threw ended up getting a pic with em. Always thought he would have been big in WWE
Yeah the brutal part was if he had come along tna ten years later he absolutely would have been huge in wwe - but when he was at his peak it was a time when wwe would not even consider tna-made talents
Growing up my dad got me into wrestling I was watching WWf/WWE and we took a trip to Florida and on the last day of our trip we got to go to TNA Lockdown 2006 at universal Studios I had no clue about most of the wrestlers at that time and it had Abyss vs Christian and Team Jarrett vs team Sting it was amazing and I started watching TNA more then WWE.
That was around the same time I got into tna more as well - the real shame is I remember dvd/tape trading got me into the show.. but I can't remember which ppv it was that got me hooked

True. Hes about 6'5" in reality. Still huge compared to a lot of today's wrestlers

One thing that surprised me though is how evidently shorter than Tyrus(Brodus Clay) Abyss was, probably the former had just bigger boots and is half an inch taller than Chris Parks.

There is one snag WWE can’t debut him as Abyss as that name I believe is traidmarked by Impact Wrestling so if WWE wanted to do that character he’d have to have a different name but it’s not likely as Chris Parks is getting older know and is effectively retired from wrestling
Actually in 2017 Impact gave every wrestler the rights to their name so they can tour, using that name - and bring more attention to impact by keeping the characters alive. That's why EC3 was able to be EC3 in WWE. I agree his age is the biggest factor and - as i noted in the video - his bump from jeff hardy.. it wasn't good. It didnt really breed confidence that the guy can do a match or a proper workload if and when the WWE tours again.

All due respect - Abyss WAS a damn good wrestler. In 2002 when he was almost 30 - not now when he's almost 50. And while he was great in the James Mitchell days - by the time he was in Decay you could see physically he was done. Don't let nostalgia goggles let you forget that time exists. Afterall - Bret Hart was a hell of a wrestler - but not in 2010

I don't know what rights WWE would have to the monster's ball matches, aswell as WWE being a PG product ect. But Abyss vs Bray Wyatt would be and extremely good match
I think they would have had an incredible one. Really impact owns the rights but its still basically a weapons match where (kayfabe) the wrestlers were starved in a dark room for 24 hours first. They could name it anything

Just to see these 3 superstar out of TNA ring and in a WWE ring it's an awesome feeling. They substitute Paul Heyman for Joseph Parks since I believe that Joseph can be a Paul Heyman(talking wise) and Abyss, if they have a storyline for him to win at least one title from wwe (maybe the IC tittle since his already kinda in the mix)😉😉 just a thought. The only thing that I dont kno is the name Abyss, who's copy rights is it? Joseph or TNA?
Impact did a thing a few years back allowing its wrestlers rights to their own names and characters after the matt hardy 'broken' dispute in 2017 - so the rights would belong to Chris Parks.
