Hey, I'm JoEllyn. Just moved from far west suburbs of Chicago to the country (by dekalb). Have 1/2 acre garden now. Started watching you to start ranunculus and kept watching. Have always grown lots of veggies, zinnia and marigolds (for pest control, but loving them). Branching out into flowers... Will have a roadside stand this summer to ad to the sweetcorn my hubby's family has grown for years!

JoEllyn, are you living my dream?! I think maybe! Happy you’re here, but so excited for you and your new journey. I’m looking ALL the time for more land, but hubby wants to stay near family. Very best wishes on your road side stand and hope your ranunculus and anemones are thriving! Keep me updated!

I did get some of my florettes zinnias already started and in the field but pretty much everything else I’m so far behind because we were supposed to move into our home a month ago and we are not in yet. We failed our certificate of occupancy yesterday, hopefully it’ll be passed tomorrow but it has prevented the gardener from tearing up my beds because one of the issues is it has to be fully landscaped to get your CO so I don’t want him tearing up the beds until after we get it. So I have 12 raised beds but anything I was going to plant in the landscape is now languishing in 4 inch pots or grow bags. I just feel so far behind with the summer flowers. Though I am finishing my period of delay and you are just about to enter your period of not having enough time lol. Congratulations on twins!

Thank you, Lisa! It’s always challenging when life gets in the way with our seed starting and gardening…believe me, I know that stressful feeling! It will all work out! Hoping things move along quickly for you, so you can get them in! Keep me updated!

Hi, Jennifer here! Your seed starting 'mess' looks very familiar, the only thing you are missing is the traces of dirt on the floor to match my chaos! 😂

Oh they’re there, Jennifer! 😂 Or were. I actually cleaned it all up today. It’s like a great miracle…until next year! Happy to have you here! Thankful for what that ‘mess’ has given me in seedlings this year though 😃

Im completely smitten with flower farmers❤️ I’ve had a perennial garden for 25 plus years, and rarely pick the blooms. This year I have added new cut flower garden! I’ve got 30 some dahlia seedlings 6 tubers and a few cuttings. (Still have to start zinnias.) I so want florets .. they are swoon-worthy! I just couldn’t justify another seed purchase this season. I have so many that I’ve not even started yet 😜 my cut flower garden is about 12x15. I’ve got scabiosa, ammi, nigella, celosia, mullien, paper daisies and English daisies, lupine, lots of echinaceas, yarrow, gomphrena, .. all ready to plant.. just a little more garden prep. Oh lisianthus too! I successfully grew 2 varieties! I’ve about 36😊 I’ve restarted bells of Ireland. Still have cosmos, calendula, zinnias, nasturtiums, marigold, sunflowers, herbs, and warm veggies to seed. Tomatoes too! You look fabulous 🩷🩷 stay put baby girls.. no rushing momma ❣️

I cannot WAIT for my floret babes 😍 I’m growing unicorn mix and coral reef celosia, and then I traded with someone on a floret fans fb page for precious metals and raspberry lemonade celosia!! We’re having nighttime temps into the 40s this week, so all my babes are back inside til next week…trying to be patient 😅 Hope all is well in your garden! ❤

I giggled when you said you didn't know palomino was a color -- I had already paused your video before you said that and google searched to see what color palomino was. You have a little boy and are pregnant with twins and my seeding area looks worse than yours -- a neat gardener I am not. So glad you and the twins are still healthy.

I'm in Ohio, I learned my lesson about planting too early. this is season 4 for growing. I grow cherry tomato's, take seeds from tomato's I eat. April 30 my Hearty Hibiscus just woke up. I'm growing petunias, seed Daliahs red, yellow ones, have hundreds of snapdragons and violoas that self seeded. I'm waiting for my assoc. To lay the mulch before I plant. I plant the rabbit and plants deer like in 18 to 19 inch pots. Helps to keep rabbits off my lilies.

I love your enthusiasm! My last frost is typically on May15th-20th but this year we have not had frost since April 27th and the forecast shows all night time temps at 40 or above! I just received some new dahlias so am potting them up and I may also do some sunflowers inside since I am not sure where I am going to plant them yet! Take care!

My table looks very similar to yours ... no pregnancy to use as an excuse here tho haha! My girls are teenagers!
I am working on getting things planted out in the field but so far only 1 tray of snaps have gone in. I am using weed fabric for the 1st time and still working on getting holes burned. I hope all the best for you Steph! xoxo

Hi Margaret! I’m glad I’m not the only one…tidy seed starting areas are like an anamoly to me 😂 Though this year has probably been the most chaotic, but I’m grateful for what that station has allowed me to grow! And I actually cleaned it up today…until next year! How exciting with the weed fabric. Do tell how you feel it worked after you get through the season! Best happy planting wishes!

Hello! I'm Anna and right now I'm a home gardener but hoping in the future to be a small flower farmer once we get a larger property. This year I'm working on double the flowers I grew last year. I have too many planted or planned to share all of them but so far I have zinnnas, snapdragons, sunflowers, yarrow, basil, amaranth and so many more. Weare in western Washington state (for now) and I'm not sure how I found your channel lol.

Hi my name is Annette, love your videos! I live south of New Orleans, Louisiana. Can you please tell me where you get your tulip bulbs?

    • @TinysGarden
      @TinysGarden  6 месяцев назад

Welcome! Great to have you here! Wowza, you’re so much warmer than me down there 🥵 But I’m sure you can grow a lot I can’t. For my landscape tulips I grow from Colorblends and my cut bouquet tulips I buy from flower farmers…I’ve had great success with The Flower Hat and Farmhouse Flower Farm. Make sure you buy them pre-chilled or chill them when you receive them because you’re in a warmer zone. Double check, but I’m pretty sure you’d need to do that with your temps.

Unfortunately, some of my zinnias COOKED in the winter sowing container. I’ve never had that happen before. And they had not dried out. Anyway, I’ll restart a few zinnia varieties that were not successful, northern Michigan, zone 6.

I just have never had great luck with winter sowing. I’m sorry yours cooked. Maybe if you have any left you can just direct sow and see if you have luck that way! Sending good vibes!
