    You are a genius!!! When I saw you put this on your Instagram I was like mind blown and I knew I needed this in my life for Canadian winters 💀😭. Honestly it’s so hard leaving the house with so many layers and kids 😅 I feel like I need to travel with a luggage bag (not the carry on lol) just to hold everything. You’re amazing thank you for this!

      Hi Carmen! Thanks for your comment I'm so glad I could be useful!! It honestly gets to too many layers in winter, and the cold air always finds a little uncovered area to sip through! Hopefully since everything is connected in the Comfort Hood it'll solve some things ^^

    I had to order this pattern off Etsy. I can see me making it in so many colors and patterns and altering the pattern slightly to make different options with the same feel. Thank you so much. ❤

    I'm very new to sewing but I'm excited to try and tackle this project using your pattern! I'm going to be riding a motorcycle around Ecuador next month and I've been worried about packing for the different temperature ranges I'll be traveling through- this piece would be great for layering AND won't take up much room!

    • @isainstitches
      @isainstitches  2 года назад +4

      You might want to add an adjustable cord around the neck (kinda the same as the one around the hood opening) to tighten the collar better around the neck, that way the wind blows less in there!

    Je viens de terminer. C'est un modèle joli, superconfortable, j'aime beaucoup, et j'ai réussi à suivre les explications en anglais. Mais j'ai choisi un polaire asez épais, un petit jersey coton pour la doublure. Ma machine (Singer Heavy Duty)) a réussi à faire ce que je voulais, mais ça n'a pas été facile, il y a sur la fin beaucoup de couches de tissu à assembler. Je vais en refaire une, cette fois-ci je prendrai un polaire moins épais pour moins galérer....

      Coucou Lydie !! Merci pour le message, je suis contente que ça ait fonctionné en fin de compte !! C'est sûr que certaines manipulations ne sont pas évidentes. Bien joué !!

    If one wants to use the burrito method without a stretch material, it could be possible to lengthen the back piece of the bodice section in order to have more space to work in... The shoulder width is the most restrictive part though

    • @isainstitches
      @isainstitches  Год назад +1

      Yes indeed, the shoulders are the critical area, the whole collar+hood part has to through the shoulders

    Hi, I have a question! Where is the pattern for this hood? I purchased this pattern on Etsy and was directed to this RUclips video, but this seems more like directions than a pattern. I see more links to buy the pattern elsewhere, but I don’t want to have to purchase it twice! I’d like to purchase fabric for this but I don’t know how much I need.

    • @isainstitches
      @isainstitches  24 дня назад

      Hi! If you purchased the pattern on Etsy, you can go ahead and download the files, if you wonder how to, here's a guide ruclips.net/video/04OuqgUOgME/видео.html

    Hola, me encanto el modelo ( diseño) pero me podrias decir con telas lo realizaste, porque si lo hago con polar creo que quedaria muy grueso, no creo que la maquina lo cosa bien. Con micropolar es probablemente mejor pero igual se producen costuras gruesas en la unión. Gracias desde Chile.

    • @isainstitches
      @isainstitches  Год назад +1

      ¡Hola! En el vídeo la capucha está confeccionada con tela de sudadera y jersey de algodón. También lo hice con polar en lugar de tela de sudadera y quedó genial. No conozco su máquina, así que no puedo decir si estas telas estarán bien, pero en general son perfectas.

      umrechnen ist bei SM keine gute Idee - aber nimm einfach ein Schnittmuster für einen Pullover mit Kapuze und ändere es entsprechend

    This is exactly I was looking for! Thank you! Also how can I make the collar front more "pointy"? Or the bib?Bible? Also can I made the collar in front long enough to cover my mouth and nose? Is there a way to make it form fitting so it stays up? I want to use this for raving

    • @isainstitches
      @isainstitches  Год назад +1

      Hi Jess! 1. More pointy: sure, you'll have to redraw some pattern parts, it's about experimenting a bit 💪 2. Collar length: yes, cut a collar piece that's higher, maybe make it much even higher than you would to trim afterwards 3. Collar stays up: it's all about the fabric. A thick polar fleece will stay up but won't be form fitting. If you want it tighter around your neck I suggest a thick ribbing fabric, of the kind they use to make cuffs to jackets or hoodies. It'll be pretty narrow compared to the neckhole of the pattern, you'll just stretch it as much as needed to sew it to the neckhole. Careful though, the neck hole will probably have a gathered look after that! Always try things on midway throughout the cutting/sewing process. Good luck!

    How much fabric did you use for your size M hood? I am very excited to sew this!

    • @isainstitches
      @isainstitches  2 года назад +2

      Hi! For size M, if your fabric is 150 cm large/60'', you need 50 cm/18" of length for the shell, and another 50 cm/18" for the lining.

    hi, you said that when your head is 55-56 it would fit without elastic fabric, but, my head which is 54 does not fit.... what did i do wrong?

      Hmm, 1) could be that I was wrong 2) we didn't measure our head at the same spot: middle of forehead?

    J'en suis à ma 4e capuche. Pour ma fille qui porte son bébé sur le ventre et doit laisser son manteau ouvert en haut, j'ai agrandi le plastron devant. Pour un porteur de lunettes, et une demoiselle soucieuse de sa coiffure, j'ai agrandi le modèle pour qu'il passe plus facilement: 1 cm de chaque côté de la couture médiane de la capuche (=2cm en tout), 0,5cm en plus sur le pli au tissu du plastron devant, pareil pour le pli au tissu du plastron dos(=2cm en tout pour le plastron entier). J'ai ajouté 2cm en plus sur la longueur du cou,
    Toutes les coutures pour assembler les différentes parties au cou ont été faites au point élastique de la machine pour que le col s'étire un peu au passage.. J'ai doublé deux capuches, deux non, car la polaire était bien épaisse. J'ai alors fait attention à faire une couture bien nette au milieu de la capuche, car cette couture est visible à l'intérieur, ajouté 1cm au pourtour de la capuche pour faire un ourlet rentré avant d'entrer le cordon. Merci pour ce modèle adaptable et très confortable!
