  • Colin Cowherd attended the screening of the new film 'Air', a movie that tells the story of legendary NBA star Michael Jordan and his partnership with Nike. Colin lays out how this movie will affect MJ's legacy, and credits the basketball legend for being able to navigate making the right choices. Plus, LeBron James former teammate from Miami Heat Mario Chalmers had some things to say about the Los Angeles Lakers' start. Colin weighs on on whether anyone 'fears' LeBron.

    I saw an old Bulls / Pistons game on tv the other day, before the Bulls had Pippin. I don't even know who won, but I know who the best player on the court was. Without any help the tongue came out in the third period when they were losing, and Jordan was unbelievable. Never seen anything like it to this day. And it was just a regular season game in a year the Pistons won the championship. Just watching that one game I could tell you who was the greatest player I have ever seen. I don't care about statistics, I don't care about rings, I don't care about shoes or branding. All i have to do is watch. Watch a Dream Team game, Watch a Bulls game, Watch a North Carolina game. And you will know. He isn't a legend because of his shoes. He isn,t a legend because of Jackson or Pippin (no disrespect to two greats who helped him win rings). He was a legend when the Tar Heels put a jersey on him.

      I've got the 63 point game Jordan had in the playoffs against the Celtics on an old VHS tape and I've watched it dozens of times. You're right in a very simplistic, obvious way. Jordan was so much better than everybody else on the court in that game it was almost laughable and that includes the great Larry Bird. One after the other they all took turns trying to guard him and he just destroyed everybody. I have never seen anything like that game.

Plus, their are plenty of stats I could throw out to prove it but I shouldn't have too. The fact MJ is still as revered and talked about as he is should tell you all you need to know. Go look up the ratings on the last dance documentary. Ppl still are captivated by this man and he hasn't played in around 2 decades. That's greatness

    Fear is not overrated. When your peers, who are also the best in the world, feel dread or worry because they aren't confident they can win -- that is a major psychological advantage. It leads to opponents playing tight or creating stress for their teammates. It also usually leads to losing.

    • @katrinachavez3533

      Very true! And it enhances the confidence of the teammates of the player that is feared. Steve Kerr alluded to that - how it made him better mentally.

    • @jetrobertsdj
      @jetrobertsdj Год назад

      @katrina chavez No doubt, there is no stat for measuring confidence level, and that plays a big role in whether you win or lose in anything. Basketball. Darts. Cards. Hitting. Pitching. High confidence is Steph Curry, low confidence is Ben Simmons. If they played one on one and Steph made his first two shots and Ben missed his first two shots, just on confidence (or fear) alone Steph would likely win.

    A Lebron documentary won't really be that interesting. That isn't because I don't like Lebron or don't consider him on the same tier as Jordan, but his personality is honestly very boring and, like Colin said, he is a very open book that we already know about. There would not be that much to learn. He wasn't as aggressive as MJ, as passionate and dedicated as Kobe, as Fun loving as Magic, as competitive as Bird. Lebron is, as he puts it, just a kid from Akron. He is nothing more as a personality. A documentary on someone like Tim Duncan with the Spurs' dynasty would be much more interesting, because Duncan was very private and the personalities of the people behind the success in the San Antonio have not been as deeply explored.

    Jordan in his whole NBA career played with 2 HOF players. I repeat 2! (Rodman- is a defensive specialist & a terrific rebounder & Pippen- is a great defensive player & a great complimentary player for Jordan). Let that sink in! By the way, I know a lot of you are going to say Jordan was nothing until Pippen came along. Well, Pippen would not be in the HOF if it weren't for MJ who elevated his game. I wish Colin would stop the attacks on MJ. It gets old. We all know MJs life and nba career. We know another about what he's done after basketball. No one is denying the struggles he faced, or how he won. What Colin should address is the facts that he never wants to address about Lebron. Like Lebron saying he didn't like white people, how Lebron didn't help out the people in Cleveland until he was called out for it. How Lebron doesn't make his teammates better and stats back this up. How Lebron needed to play with more all star teammates and he still lost more than he won. How Lebron missed the playoffs 4 times in his career. How Lebron got bounced in the first round as well. Why doesn't he address this stuff. Not all has to do with basketball. But it's the same concept like how he and his protégé nick continue their assaults in off the court stuff.
