You should have cooked lentils in water with the meat. A good plate of lentils will keep you full for a long time and taste really good in the cold. Where was your dog during the night? He wasn't seen again until you left in the morning. Did he get anything to eat? If that really was your dog, he would have followed you wherever you went.
Thank you for the tip about your lenses. My dog's name is Kira and she is the most loyal soul you can imagine. When the shelter took shape, she retreated to the last corner to be protected from the heavy and wet snowfall. When I eat you can hear her smacking in the background. And no, that's not me. She slept in my sleeping bag and in one scene at the end you can see her black paw on the white sheepskin. I love my dog and everyone who knows my channel confirms that too!
Danke dafür - mach weiter so!

Excellent video! This type survival scenario is more relevant to lot of us than the solo overnight "survival in the woods" productions. The one's where the guy builds an underground house with a fireplace. In 1977 while deer hunting my brother and me got lost on state land. You talk about a long cold sleepless night! Never went in the field again w/out gear for the unexpected.
Great video, thank you brother. A small tip if you don’t mind - when starting a fire, hold the steel still and pull the flint backwards over it. The sparks still fly forward but you don’t upset your tinder with all that forward motion. Cheers!
Carry two BiC butane lighters instead. No weight. No delay. No need to shave duff and then sparks from a firestick with cold numb fingers. You are already using a modern steel hatchet, modern saw, modern clothes, boots, flashlight…. Forget nostalgia and romanticism. Use a modern fire lighter.
Thanks 😊 At 17:42 you can see a sheepskin to my right and something black sitting on it with a white chest spot. A few seconds later she can be seen in my sleeping bag with her paw on the sheepskin.
This video captures the essence of survival in challenging conditions. The bushcraft shelter built in heavy snow is a testament to resilience and resourcefulness in the face of nature's challenges. The skills demonstrated here, from selecting a suitable site to constructing a sturdy shelter, are invaluable for anyone venturing into the wilderness during winter. It's inspiring to see how creativity and determination can turn adversity into an opportunity to thrive. This video is not just about survival skills; it's a lesson in preparation, adaptability, and respect for nature's power.
This video goes against every rule I was taught in the Army i.e. never build a fire below snow ladened bows, the heat will bring down the snow and kill your fire - this could be a death sentence.
TThe fire was only used to prepare the food. No snow came down in that short time and then I went into the sleeping bag. But explain to me where you made your fire?
This took me back to last year when I was exploring 70s anime. Plus I love driving in the night on my Miata just enjoying the scenery with the top off while these play in the background
I never see anyone using those ferro rods correctly. If you will scape just hard enough to get some ferro powder on your tender then scrape hard for sparks it works every time
Nice video to find. I subscribed in the first 10 minutes of watching. Love the silent bushcraft knowledge to watch. Nice dog. Thanks. Looking forward to more.
Half way through this fine video, I was wondering if you coukd heap up some snow and maybe boughs of evergreens on the upside of your structure, to block out the cols air moving down the hill somewhat.
