I really like this song ..... and this video! It's great that Sarah is here during the jam! I hope there will be moments like this more often, beautiful people!
Thanks Steve!! Hope you enjoy playing along & learning this groove for your own music too. P.S. Somewhere in this time frame made a video of how to practice with a toaster (mine makes a steady ticking eighth note to practice along with ;-)
Thank you for sharing, the scrapping sound when you run the finger across the fret strip is call the "Guiro" sound effect from the guiro percussion instrument.
You could try the guiro effect also on the guitar but I would remove the 6th bass strings to give more space to run the finger through. I use open G tuning because this tuning has better harmony for some nifty finger picking and variation than the standard tuning.
Um.... OMG this is amazing! Thank you for sharing. I just started playing the uke about two months ago. This is not easy for me but I will play it until I can do it. Thank you for keeping me on my toes!!!!!!!
I'm not sure if it's from Flamenco guitarists...but I started doing this years ago with my acoustic guitar & found it fits on the uke perfectly :). Thanks for watching! More videos to come...
Great play through, the jazzy bump bump is so cool on the stand up. Thank for all the inspiration you give this community of users.

Instead of a drum beat? Now that's creative!
This song is so much fun, Stu, so thanks for posting! I really dig it.
Glad you like it Jordan...a classy and classic tune to croon with your uke or guitar!
Thank you for sharing, the scrapping sound when you run the finger across the fret strip is call the "Guiro" sound effect from the guiro percussion instrument.
Exactly! Thanks for that reminder - I should have mentioned the mighty guiro! Thanks for watching :)

I was thinking of making washboard percussion for our uke group but maybe we don't need one? 👐
Go for it!
Awesome. Is that a Tenor or Concert?
I love the strum! Is this scrapping of the frets a technique borrow from flamenco guitar?
I'm not sure if it's from Flamenco guitarists...but I started doing this years ago with my acoustic guitar & found it fits on the uke perfectly :). Thanks for watching! More videos to come...
