Your video came up a day after I watched a Bonnie Bainbridge video…the pelvic area is kind of like a two piece full cup we carry our whole lives and depending on the angle in which we carry it will determine the level of proper posture we are able to practice daily….I know your video is geared for the female, so imagine if you are male and you don’t have the opening you speak of, where can that pressure be released? As a male, I can say that it definitely affects the neck, jaw, shoulders. Since a child I have suffered terrible jaw and neck pain(playing guitar since 8 yrs old doesn’t help)and just recently the Yoga course I am taking has opened up so many ways to alleviate the tension(50 years of it!)Lastly, what I do specifically is practice yoga upside down with no pressure on my head, it’s fantastic! Also, driving is a big culprit so in the car I practice top, bottom teeth and tongue touching together(while relaxing shoulders at stops)Thank you for your insightful video and it’s okay to say words used in medical terminology, especially the one that got us all here in the first place.😊
Thanks so much for this well explained, clear, concise video! So good to see you highlighting the connection between pelvis and jaw as it is so overlooked in many rehab programs. I have been working on relaxing my jaw for about 3 months and the effect is life changing.Walking and exercise is much more effortless and I actually feel my pelvic rotation when I'm mindful and stop clenching my jaw. So many of us need to do this!
Oh gosh- that can be a challenging thing to recover from but we know you can do. Examine your emotions related to the accident while you're working on your physical exercises!
The fact that im stressed out in dental school right now and have tmj and chronic constipation i suspect now is due to pelvic floor dysfunction is so funny to me
In Des Moines you say! I love in Las Vegas. I will be going to Des Moines at the end of May for my son’s Podiatry graduation. I wish do I could get an appointment with you. I already spent $1,000 to get my jaw out into the joints and nothing happened. I don’t know who to turn to here in Las Vegas.
We would love to see you when you come to town! I wish I knew who to refer you to in Las Vegas- you might try to find a pelvic floor PT who does dry needling but can also do your jaw.
I have chronic tension on my pelvic floor, my abdomen, and on my face and neck too. I do have tooth pain and more usually. Im really anxious person. My body is always rotated to one side, to the right, i have more abdominal tension on the right too, not sure facial. My hip flexors seem to be always on too. Does relaxation naturally reorder this or should it be manually adressed too?
Hello- with tension everywhere it takes a multimodal response. Manual therapy, intentional muscle relaxation focus, identification of trapped or unacknowledged negative emotions, gentle exercise. The goal is to improve blood flow to all the muscles so the sensors aren't always telling your brain there is something wrong. Movement just to the point of discomfort- no stretches that hurt so good.
Jessica, I had these issues too. I also had teeth grinding. Do a Google Search for "tongue position and pelvic floor". It helped me enormously. Your tongue should rest on the roof of your mouth, with the tip on the ridge behind your top teeth (not touching the back of your front teeth...this is too far forward). I started to feel better immediately. It doesn't take too long before you will automatically keep your teeth apart and the tongue positioned correctly. For a few days you'll need to consciously position your tongue, thereafter it will happen automatically. It sounds so weird, but it honestly works. I hope this helps you. ❤
Try saying out loud (in your car, when you're alone), or in your head, "I am angry about____" "I am angry at ____" "I am worried that this will or won't happen." "I am afraid this will or won't happen if I do this or that," and see if any you can feel any change in your symptoms by simply verbalizing your subconscious negative emotions.
This is messing up my whole right side. Pains in my hips, abdominal, side, chest, neck, jaw, and head on the right side. Could you link me videos for this

I was drawn to your video as I have been dealing with a chronic debilitating TMJ-facial pain for months now. Out of the blue. Interestingly, Ive had many problems with my pelvic floor from a C-section- ovary surgery and bladder infections. In november I was biking home on a bike seat that isn’t so comfortable for my pelvic floor. My ear suddenly popped- couldn’t hear out of it for hours and this started the whole descent to vestibular headaches and now jaw pain. I’ve been wondering for months if my pelvic floor was at the root of it all. I’ve head about counter strain-fascia work to help jaw pain stemming from the pelvic floor. Are you familiar with this? ❤
@@breathe.physicaltherapywel7333 thank you for your kind reply. Would you have any other suggestions that I could look into to heal this facial pain syndrome? Health and wellness has been my work for years and now I’m living in a parallel universe with this jaw pain. Never took meds and now I need them to function. At the same time I want to stay conscious of my own health and will do whatever it takes to recover.
Hello docter, your studies are very valuable to me. My problem started with herniated or si joint injury. My right side is higher and gredually it caused pain and cramps right side of neck and a loss of sense on right side of my face. I realized that I'm leaning towards right and when I step with left foot I move my torso to compensate for this imbalance. My right medial glute is small and weaker compared to the left. I fell tens right side jaw muscles everytime I open my mouth big. My phisician haven't been able to discover anything about my desaes. Could you tell me please, how I should express my problem to the phisician so that she can understand this properly? Thank very much in advance for your answer.
thanks for responding dr. constant source of stress does not allow me to get out of it despite all my efforts. in the process unknowingly i got into this mess- tinnitus- stiff nect without pain- tight back muscles- shoulder misalignment- hip tightness- down to soleus muscle tightness. i release one the other gets angry :)
It's important to evaluate any negative emotions you may be feeling deep inside, but not expressing. Try and see how it feels in your body- I feel afraid that if I do or say ____ this will or won't happen. I feel angry about or at. I am feeling resentful that I have to do such and such or that such and such is happening to me. Go through your rolodex of negative emotions and see if you feel like your body tenses or relaxes in response. @@mohank8558

@@breathe.physicaltherapywel7333 do you mean mindfulness meditation/ yoga nidra?
Need some assistance with this, because I have been feeling jaw pain and it came out of no where. I have been stressed lately too

Hi Hikmet- if it helps at all, what you describe makes sense to us! I wonder if you could show them this video?
I have tinnitus and hip tightness along with neck tightening is this related to ur video
Yes, absolutely. All the tension in your muscles can be related to negative emotions and stress!
