I measure the viewable width of the cup that I'm using and then size it to fit that. I don't have exact measurements. Would be different for each cup used.

It depends. I used to not, but now I typically do seal with Counter Culture DIY Quick Coat. It’s a great sealer and helps when you epoxy to not have any fish eyes too. 😊👍🏻

So I sand, spray paint, glitter as ombre and put a light coat of epoxy before adding my decal? Right, that should be the order of working the cup[?

I have a question hoping you can help. I purchased a Starbucks iridescent mug and had it personalized. She used epoxy over the decals but the mug is now extremely scratched. Do you think it's the epoxy finish? Or do mugs have to be sanded prior to applying decals thus causing scratches. She has no idea why it looks like that. She offered to remake it but I'm afraid of the same outcome. I think maybe the finish is not conducive to epoxy. Any suggestions? Thank you
I have no way of knowing what she did to prep it but my guess is she sanded it so the epoxy would adhere and if there was nothing added but the epoxy then you could see the scratches.
This may be a dumb question but I’m a tumbler newbie. I just made a wood grain design for my first one. Have you ever put all the layers together and then applied it to the tumbler? Unicorn is gonna be my next design. I’m worried that I might apply it crooked if doing multiple layers. Didn’t know if that would cause bubbles in the decal. Thanks again
Anna Godfrey For me I tend to get bubbles doing it before applying to tumbler. The surface of the tumbler is curved so it will lay different than on a flat surface used to layer beforehand.
Can you tell me what color of gold vinyl you used? I received an oracal vinyl pack with my cameo, but the gold that came with it doesn't look the same as what you used in the video. Yours seems more of a shiny foil look. I made my first unicorn tumbler but I had purchased a decal online from Etsy. Curious to know if you ever have any issues getting your vinyl to stick to the contact paper. I have tried 4 different transfer paper and still have difficulties with the vinyl coming off of the backing. I use a cricut machine but different vinyl brands. After watching your video I started thinking about it and It may just be with the cricut vinyl. But just curious to know if anyone else has these issues. It gets really frustrating sometimes **Sad face** . Thank you for anything and everything!
Casey O'Neal The only one that usually gives me trouble is cricut Holographic vinyl. I use medium tack transfer paper and a squeegee to press it down. 👍🏻😊

Marygrace Thompson You can. I prefer the stainless tumblers as the epoxy doesn’t stick as well to acrylic. But, it’s stayed fine on something I did. You just want to make sure it’s not a bendable plastic.

Glad you enjoy my channel! :) I also use 651 vinyl, which is a 7 year permanent vinyl, so even if it isn't sealed, it lasts...it's even dishwasher safe. But, I seal mine with epoxy, so it won't come off at all.
So I did a tumbler but 5 hours in the rotisserie I used the heat gun & it started bubbling up, Can you please tell me why this happened & wat I can do to fix it?
Jimenez Jimenez why did you use the heat gun 5 hours in? I usually use it immediately or after 20-30 minutes tops and only swiping across to pop any bubbles.
Idk why I did it honestly but I somehow added pressure to the bubbles & they are gone but now I have finger prints & epoxy still feels pretty tacky... should I still leave it all night on the turner or just start over? lol im so sorry I feel like a made a giant mess

You need a thick coat of epoxy or two if you don’t have a thick one. Needs to be smooth before decal.

I must say it came out very nice, before i added the vinyl i wet sand the finger prints & with the final coat of epoxy it looks smooth
