I must say, Synthetic Division (Learned from Organic Chemistry Tutor) is a lot easier than this way of inspection. I can also understand it that way and doesn't involve so many steps.

I did the same. I got a factor using mode 3 then I synthetically divided then got the quadratic and after that just factorise the quadratic and got the 3 roots( x intercepts)

Haha, silver calculator I am guessing :)
So that does give the answers (sometimes) but teachers would want to check your method of getting the answer.
You can still use it to check if you are correct.
Remember that it wont always work especially when answers are decimals etc.. They wont fit into your step.
