Thanks for the video and tips. My wife and I are planning to rent instead of an excursion. What selfie stick/tripod did you use and what size lens was on your camera? We are wondering if we need a larger lens for our Alaskan cruise. Thank you
Thank you for watching! We used a basic phone tripod to hold up our phone when we took the picture (when my phone fell from the wind). www.amazon.com/dp/B08L5VKNWR/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_dl_DJC94C4AYWDR5PVGV9SF?linkCode=ml2&tag=botl3-20 I brought along my 50 mm 1.4 lens, but I should have also brought my 70-200 mm lens. If you have a larger lens, definitely bring it!
Loving your videos! I agree only this time with a husband that 106 ride to the top isn’t on my bucket list lol. Can you enter Canada with a birth certificate and license? Thanks. Going on this cruise on August 10. Alaska is a bucket list
Hi Angie! Thank you so much! Yeah $106 was insane, LOL! If you’re a U.S. Citizen, then you’ll need a passport to enter Canada by car. You can however cruise with just the birth certificate. You’re gonna have a blast! 🤗
Were you there in early May? I hope the lakes are thawed by end of May. Skagway doesn't look very crowded. I have seen it very crowded on other videos.
What was the drink you had at dinner and how do you order one of those? I'm headed to Alaska next may and your video has helped me in figuring out how and what I want to do. Also your little girl is super cute!!!
Hi!! Thank you so much!!! ☺️ It was a pitcher of white sangria or you can order just a glass. At dinner in the main dining room, the waiters will take your drink order. You can also bring in a drink you may have ordered from another bar or a glass of the wine/champagne you may have brought on board with you (since each adult 21+ is allowed to bring one bottle of wine or champagne). Cheers!
We are heading to Alaska on a cruise in September! How long was the drive to Carcross and the other places where you stopped? We are in port 7am-5pm so I’m not sure if that would give us enough time but I love the idea of a road trip to the places you mentioned!
Hi Lana! Thank you for watching! We did all of this in about 8 hours. You can definitely spend less time (cut out the skipping rocks, LOL) at Emerald Lake and Tutshi Lake and just use them as photo ops. Make time for Carcross and Caribou Crossing Trading Post. The others are just great stopping points (and there are so many other scenic stops along the way) for pictures. Let us know if you decide to book a car rental. It's a great way to spend the day! 😊
@@barrettosontheloose thanks for the info! We will actually have a 1-year-old and no car seat so I was encouraged that you were able to find one. Did you have any issues driving a rental across the border? I can’t wait to see the rest of your videos for this series since it’s almost the exact itinerary we will have! 😁
Yes, this company now has a car seat! We’ve done this drive twice and never had an issue going in to Canada with a car rental and our passports. I’m sure they get car rentals passing through daily from the cruises. Just make sure you download the ArriveCAN app. 🤗
We didn’t use GPS, because it’s literally 1 road in/out and we used a guide we found online for stopping points. The guide is also in the video description. My iPhone map did work though and service in Canada is part of my AT&T phone plan.
@@barrettosontheloose Hi, great content! Would you mind sharing where you found the guide you found online? We're planning to do the drive as well, thank you so much!
We rented from Affordable Car Rental in Skagway. We called to book and spoke with Nils. It was a little over $200 which included several $10 extras like a car seat, boxed lunch for 2 and leaving the car at the dock right off the ship.
I love the idea of going to the furthest point first!
It made the most sense, lol! Such a beautiful drive!!
Great videos! Just booked our first Alaskan cruise, and your videos have made me so excited. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! We love that! Hope you have an amazing cruise!!! 🛳🤗
Wonderful video
Thank you!!

My son and I would love to do this drive,we are travelling from Australia this May
That’s so cool! It’s such a beautiful drive! 🤗

Hi! We were there mid-May.

Great video! We will be there in a few months and would love to do this. Who did you rent from?
It’s a great way to spend your day and on your own schedule! The company is called Affordable Car Rental.

Would love to know if you did this trip,I am on the same time frame this May but not sure if we'd have enough time
Do you use a GPS to find your way while driving? Unsure what to use since we probably wont have cell service in Canada?
We didn’t use GPS, because it’s literally 1 road in/out and we used a guide we found online for stopping points. The guide is also in the video description. My iPhone map did work though and service in Canada is part of my AT&T phone plan.

Hi, how is phone signal driving from Snagway to Yukon. Thanks
Hi! We had no issues and our provider includes service in Canada.
Did you have to book the dog sledding in advance?
No, we just showed up and paid for the petting zoo and added on the dog sledding.
May I ask how much the car was and the name of the company. Thanks

That’s better than excursions.
Agreed!
@@barrettosontheloose After watching this video, I canceled the tour and I'm renting car and drive...Big hugs for your beautiful daughter 🥰
Awesome! Thank you!! 🤗 Have a wonderful time!
