VE Tech Tips - Master Template Wizard

Master Templates can support increased modelling productivity in the VE, allowing users to import and merge VE model data from a source master template into their current projects. This Tech Tip looks at using the Master Template Wizard to share data between VE projects.

How to share data between projects which have a lot in common, using Master Templates either at the start of a new project, or to update an existing one, through three main routes:
Using the ‘Import Data’ function to simply import selected data, which can then be assigned manually
Using ‘Import and Assign Data’ to choose criteria to match the data from the template to the spaces in your model. This data will then be imported and automatically assigned
Using Import Data (Advanced) to choose exactly what you want to import: data, geometry, or both. This can be a useful part of a BIM workflow with multiple iterations
