    Thank you for the video. I cleaned the fan, changed thermal paste, and replaced the hard drive with a SSD.

    Thank you for this video, i took mine apart, cleaned up fan put new thermal paste. Once i put it back together it no longer turns on, the LED still lights up when plugged in. I think the ribbon cable near the fan, upper left at 4:25 is not fully in, tried but can't seem to get it fully inserted, any tips?

    • @LaptopDisassembly
      @LaptopDisassembly  Год назад

      It is the power button cable. Check is there any bend pins on it. If yes, you can cut it a little. Otherwise just push it Inside all the way. You can test without the cable by shorting first two pins with tweezers.

    Thank you. I have the Lenovo B580, which is very similar to the G model. Your video helped me very much. Disassembled it, cleaned it, replaced the thermal paste, put it back together. Works like a charm. The differences are with the connectors and the fan. My fan only has a heatsink for the CPU. Even after 9 years of use, the computer is still going strong and there even wasn’t a lot of dust on the fan grills…seems that the computer is designed quite well, especially regarding the air filters on the case.

      Probably there is a lot of dust in it.. Did you disassemble it and clean it.. If not you have to do it.

    lenovo G580 start problem, no power led, clicking noise with battery, no sound with power cable and no battery, power jack cable is ok. What might be the possible cause

    • @LaptopDisassembly
      @LaptopDisassembly  4 года назад

      Can be from a lot of things. No power led can be a bad bios or a faulty super IO. The clicking sound can be from a short on the battery section. Try reseting the bios first.

      Do you see the wifi card in the device manager. Also do you see any networks or none. Check the enable key Fn+ to enable the wifi.

    Am about to do same on my laptop i have questions
    After cleaning the fan or replace it should i clean cpu thermal paste and put new one ?
    After assembling parts back should i run computer normal or must do something in bios !? Pls help because am about to actually replace fan and upgrade cpu from i5 to i7

    • @LaptopDisassembly
      @LaptopDisassembly  4 года назад +1

      Yes you have to replace the thermal paste when you ckean the laptop. The thermal paste have about 2 years of working live, after that it hardens and it is not working ok. Just replace the paste and use normally, no need to do something in bios.

      @@admiralreg
      1. If it is BIOS problem, you need a programmer to flash the bios. Which means maintenance.
      2. If is a VGA problem there is 2 options. A temporary fix that you can do by your self. Use a heat gun of a hair dryer and heat the vga chip ( it is next to the cpu. The cooler is sitting on it) for lets say 30sec. After that reassemble and test. If you want a permanent fix the chip have to be replaced and this also called for maintenance. You can try the temp way just to be sure where is the problem. I can bet the problem is the VGA chip. But if you will disassembly it, replace the thermal paste before reassembly.

    I pulled mine apart to clean the fan and then put it back together.
    It now boots but there is no power to the screen and it's blank. I don't recall touching anything to do with the screen. Any idea as to why it is not working? Any help is greatly appreciated.

      Ok but douse the caps lock works properly. If the problem is the light itself can be damaged during the disassembly or if it is with flex connection, can be bad or not connect cable.
