      Hello Masha. You were my very first Instagram online Russian cybertutor. I've known you since 2020. Fortunately, I just learned of your name change to 'russiancomprehensive' on time. Otherwise, I could have lost track of you. Good luck with your career on the Internet, and a sweet hug to symbolize the anniversary of our friendship, which probably began three years ago, October 2020.

    So you would start by saying Меня зовут... then follow that with the other to let them know your name but what you go by, correct?

      @RussianComprehensive to clarify, I was asking would I say: Меня зовут Кортни. Можно просто Корт, if I wanted to go by that instead?

    Правильно! Меня тоже завут Майкл, но можно просто Майк, Майкий, Miguelito, cangrejo arbóreo, или Muffinhead. А вы? Как вас завут? Какoe y вас прозвище (Is this a possible way to ask about someone's nickname?)

    • @RussianComprehensive
      @RussianComprehensive  11 месяцев назад +1

      Да, прОзвище = nickname,
      ещё можно сказать:
      Как тебя называют друзья? = How do your friends call you?

      Отлично! Спасибо! "Как вас называют друзья?" - Is this also correct for formal situations?@@RussianComprehensive

      Well grammatically it’s correct, though doesn’t make much sense asking that someone in a formal situation, like imagine you’re asking your boss,
      hey boss, how do your friends call you? 😅

      🤪 hahaha, oops. Good point!!! Like they say, "hindsight is always 20/20". I appreciate the response in any case! @@RussianComprehensive
