ticks are the WORST bug/arthropod/crawly whatever in the world so having giant ones covered in eyes that hit like a freight train was downright Evil of motion twin
Best area in the game. I love the idea of a swamp corrupted by polution ontop of it already being insect and rot ridden hell hole. Perfect music to go with it too.
First time i entered this biome and heard this music, i felt like i am going to get beat up really quick. I was correct, giant tick mini-boss was a strong one.
Out of every track in the game, this one is probably my favorite from a compositional and melodic standpoint, which is all the more incredible to me given that I didn't even really notice it the first few times I played through this level. Everything about that stage is so atmospheric and immersive that I wasn't even able to notice anything outside of how freaked out I was by everything going on there (which makes sense, that stage is probably one of the most fantastically grotesque and fucked up amongst them all). Outstanding work, man. You're a legend and an inspiration.
The one and only time I went to this place, a Giant Tick was waiting just outside the entrance and proceeded to pound me into the dirt. Don't know if that's always the case, but dying a few seconds into a biome was kind of demoralizing.
it is unfortunately - had the same experience as you did, i think. token youtube comment unsolicited advice: bring a ranged weapon and some sort of turret or aoe skill, and roll away from it and not behind it when you dodge - they still give me a lot of grief but staying out of harm's way as you chip off bits of hp is one of the more painless ways to deal with them :o
Yeah, even as a Dead Cells veteran, I don't have much advice against it. I don't even think killing it only with melee and without a shield or skills is even possible.
@@Grey-The-Skeleton I think you could manage, but you'd need lots of dodging and status effects. Toothpick, snake claws & stiletto, or torch & oil sword would be my picks
I love this track. It really sends the message of "They didn’t give a fuck if you lived or died. If you got sent here, the nobility just wanted you out of the way for being an eyesore to them."
I love that this music sounds like you're some samurai battling through deep swamp. Also the most samurai looking outfit(s) are obtainable right after this.
It would be really cool if this song had a bouzouki part, since the Rhythm N' Bouzouki drops from Giant Ticks (I've never heard a bouzouki so maybe one of the string instruments here is one)

If I had to report an annoying bug to the developer
it would be the giant tick.

Thank you
such deep meanings these lyrics i might cry
Ngl line 5 of verse 1 kinda goes hard
You thought ticks were bad, now behold:
HUGE TICK
I love the beginning so much. It screams disease.
You've set foot in a truly dreadful place. Now go conquer it.
The vocals really do sound like a sick person moaning in pain.
Or like mushroom
the beginning perfectly fits getting blindsided by the giant tick at the start of the level when entering it for the first time
Frog
i hate bugs even more than i already did because of the GOD DAMN GIANT TICK HE DOES SO MUCH DAMAGE
Fun fact! You can cheese him with spartan sandals!

Yeah you can just _feel_ what it would be like to get your jaw kicked in by that god forsaken back kick
If giant ticks are annoying to you, wait till you meet Mama tick😂
Not only does this whole biome go hard, from the rotten tick mini-bosses to this grisly backing track, but even this splash screen goes hard. 10/10.
Im going to to morass of the banished just to hear this soundtrack each time i play
This place is painful in term of enemies.
@@juuuune I didn't say as dangerous as cavern, it's just that Morass feels like fucking vietnam.
*Everybody gangsta until the walls start speaking*
Each time i enter morass i hear the soundtrack i feel happiness and then bam massive tick horse hits me back into prison
@@slycther2.027 Well. giving you were fighting in a swamp with a ranged ambush every corner, Morass is technically just a Vietnamese backyard.
The song that plays when you arrive at Brazil
canon. This song just fits so well in the swamp thematic i cant express it in words ensnmddc
Não
As a Brazilian, I have to agree with you. But only in Pantanal and Floresta Amazônica, the other places would probably be Elite Fight or Toxic Sewers
Concordo plenamente
Como o cara de cima no Pantanal seria perfeito 👌
@@thebeheadedprisoner8905 really? Not the Arboretum theme?

I was correct, giant tick mini-boss was a strong one.
I got there with a tactics build and I wasn’t quite max so I just fucking annihilated instantly
first time i got there i has that shield that gives a long stun and a baseball bat...

I like to think it’s just the king using the rhythm n bouzouki to play music as he kills his enemies

Am i the only brutality user that didn't struggle that much against the giant ticks?
Stun shield works amazingly well against them.
My God the screaming at begging was next level 🎵🎶

this fit perfectly with the level. Just wonderfull
Listening to this while sick with COVID hits different
Jesus this absolutely bangs!
im loving the vibe it gives
If I was asked to describe it in one phrase, I'll say ''Death is near, it looking for you".
"Bed bugs on steroid"
Also, nice to see that you know about Badlands.
Welcome to the bayou.
Easily my favorite area in the game, and a top 5 song as well.
The slapping part starts at 2:20
Music is great, biome is hell

...and I have to get through one more Giant tick.

this is one song in a game that REALLY captures the idea of a decaying bayou really well.

One of my fevorite song
Best soundtrack and location IMO, it reminds me of Diablo II
Woah I can hear parts of Color Bound in this
Easily one of the best out the whole ost
Love the track, love how the area looks, hate how it feels to play.
Am I the only one with Diablo 2 vibes with the drums starting at 0:26 ???
Amazing anyway!
To anyone with a basic understanding of music or Valmont himself:
What's the first two chords? I'm a beginner and can't get it right... Thanks
Is it just me? or does the beginning sound almost the exact same as the beginning of Beat It by Michael Jackson?
No, you are Crazy man
It does! The first time I entered the biome I was like 'wtf did they put MJ here?" xD
I would play this when I'm entering the more swampy/jungle parts of mexico lol. And it really fits!!!!
Still best song
