- 1988 Caprice 305 v8, smog delete. Cat delete, true duel exhausts, headman headers, edelbrock 4bbl carb, Weiand speed warrior intake manifold. Runs really nice when warmed up but takes abit to get there!

Interestingly enough this video popped up in my recommended feed, i clicked on it because it had the same color as mine, just to find out it's my car!
I'm the current (new) owner of this exact vehicle (PAX050) and i absolutely love it. Been daily driving it to work for a while now, it draws a lot of attention which is nice and i've been getting a couple of thumbs up :D
Can confirm it doesn't like the cold Swedish weather, great car regardless =P
Awesome! Im glad to hear you are enjoying the car! :D i also used it as my daily driver, very fun car to drive. I wish i still had it xD
That is really wild. Amazing to hear it’s being loved and driven. I’m also in the 88 Caprice crew as I drive mine regularly. They are very cold natured, but once it’s warmed up it doesn’t mind the cold whatsoever.
@@churchlj8055 just bought an 87 Caprice Classic and it’s survived the 34 years up here in the Canadian cold!
My Chevy is also a 88💪 had it since I got out of h.s about 12 years now going to 13
My testosterone went up 300% .. a man needs a man’s car in this degenerate age just as he needs air to breathe!
Just like a Chevy 😂 gotta love ‘em
Let them talk about the 305 all day if they want. I’ve got an 88 caprice with a 305 and there are a lot of cars that don’t want to try me. Some of those motors had some major power.
305 cAme stock with 145 hp
@@ethanblake9065 you can do some not so major enhancements to really wake it up. I’ve outrun some newer sports cars with after getting silly facial expressions at traffic lights like I was driving a piece of junk. I’ve done it completely stock and left some of these newer cars wondering what just overtook them. Obviously not a 350 or a 454, but I swear some of the 305s are terrible and some just seem to have more.
@@churchlj8055 mine had great power! Lightly modified. I agree with what you say. Big up the 305! :]
@@AnythingGasoline I’ve modified mine just a wee bit also hahahaha
For those wondering.. it was i cold swedish morning and i had no choke...
I have an '89 Caprice with a 305 under the hood, but it has a TBI (throttle body injector). I think the '88 in this vid has a carburetor, and they are hard as hell to start especially in cold weather. I don't know if it has an automatic choke or not.
Ohhh just died your sweaty old sneakers?🤩nice to watch
It can make 300hp at the wheels with bolt on part from GM.
my 305 caprice always stars first try in below cold temperatures with 3 pumps but does idle rough like yours until warmed up. gotta hold the throttle just a tad bit to keep it steady as the choke slowly opens
Mine wasnt stock! But thanks :D
Adjust your choke so its just barely open when fully cold. Qjets like that
spark plugs and carbrator and fuel pump needed to be checked also distributor timing
The problem was that the automatic choke doesn't work. The choke plate is fully open at all times so it takes it abit to get up and running. Plus it was around 5 degrees Celsius
I had one in Europe as well. I have a short vid in my channel about the Caprice.
Sweet old sneakers to Crank 😜🤩
My sweaty old sneakers have pushed on many gas pedals ;) haha :D
@@AnythingGasoline mhmm id like to Kiss your feet while you Crank it and sniff your shoes:)
Please more with complete view;)
Unfortunately I don't own this car anymore. Wish I got some more videos of it!
@@AnythingGasoline ohh what a pity...other cranking clips?
What happened to the tail lights?
no mufflers or cats?
Sounds like a gmc truck diesel
Choke needs to be worked on.
Need to learn how a carb works lol. Pump the pedal bro
Dude I know how a carb works and I did pump the pedal many times. The car had an edelbrock 1406, the electric choke didnt work so i tied the choke plate so that it was always fully open, obviously making it hard to start when cold. I planned on restoring the car but never got around to it. Its now enjoying a new owner.
@@AnythingGasoline I got a 1405 myself, no choke. Always when its under -20ºc gotta pump it like 25 times to even have a chance.
@@TraceIrrendahl - 20! This thing barely wanted to start at 10+ it was in need of a good tune up and so on.
@@AnythingGasoline yeah, I know the feeling... but the cars where you just turn the key and go are for different kind of people, eh?
Hey bro you try and start a old car with a choke that doesn't work don't be so fucking mean you dick head
