What's crazy is how Jonas and Martha never had their first kiss. Jonas's first Kiss was Martha's second, and vice versa. They only ever kissed each other, but never at the same time.

I feel like the reason Mikkel was so panicked in the beginning was because Hannah mentioned Ulrich and Katharina, which brought up those feelings of familiarity and nostalgia, because those are his parents. Not because it was the day he was going to die, since he didn't technically know yet.
The reason Hannah had a Deja Vu moment was because she saw a kid like him some 32yrs 6 months back , grew up with him and eventually married him. Cuz it's rubella mikkel who will, 6 months later, disappear into the caves and meet younger Hannah. Where the cycle starts again. Love this show.

Hannah and Ulrich's affair starts at the party, because Michael's depression/mental problems are getting worse. Hannah does love Michael and is clearly worried this episode. She doesn't understand why he doesn't want to leave the house anymore and is so unreachable. Her obsession with Ulrich flames up at the party and Ulrich, who got rejected by Katherina, is susceptible for the affair as well. But this episode did show that Hannah loved Michael and that she is a lonely person, needing of love and attention.
Think of Adam and Old Claudia as "the now" they need to make sure everything happens as before, so they get up to a certain point to work on a plan they have whether it works or not. It's not really young Jonas or Claudia who can change things its the version of them that's the oldest.
Eric I'm glad you're planning on rewatching, this show is a top tier rewatch show. I've seen it about 4 times now and every time it just makes more and more sense. Not only do you pick up on details you couldn't have known the first time, but the timelines and relationships make more sense

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REACT TO THE WHOLE SHOW AGAIN AFTER U FINISH IT, IT COULD BE DIFFERENT, LIKE MAKING A COUPLE EPISODES PER VIDEO, SO THAT IT DOESNT TAKE MUCH SPACE. BUT OMG GIVE URSELVES THE LUXURY TO DO SO, U WONT BE DISAPPOINTED ♥
I used to be confused about why Michael had to die, but I now realize that the reason is ultimately to lead Jonas to discovering time travel in the first place so he can later use time travel to ensure Mikkel goes to the 80s by bringing him through the caves so he later becomes his father. It’s a long line of cause and effect but basically Jonas would not have discovered the existence of time travel without using the map of the caves and his Dad’s letter mailed to him from the Stranger. He was exploring the cave looking for answers to why his dad suddenly killed himself after receiving the package in the mail. So in a roundabout way, Jonas would not exist if Michael never killed himself because Jonas would never go looking for answers in the caves, ultimately discover time travel, which then leads to Mikkel ending up in the 80s in the first place because a time traveling Jonas is the reason Mikkel traveled through time in the first place.
The best part of watching any Dark reaction is the theorizing and supposition that is done upon getting another piece of the puzzle. Have looked forward to you reacting to Dark and it's been quite wonderful.
Man, what a crazy episode. Adam knew sending Jonas back in time could really kick things off for Mikkel and Marta. I don't know how you see Marta with old Magnus. It looks like Franziska to me. The lake stuff was great with future Jonas being the reason why Marta decides to make the move on him. Jonas and Michael was sad and heartbreaking. You have to remember if we've seen something happen, there's no way to prevent it.
14:01 M:"I thought about what you said at the lake!" J: "About grandmas? And the internet?" 😆😂 Always laugh tears....she is looking at him horny as hell and he don't know what's going on 😆
I really love seeing you guys theorize 😂 I love how much you're trying to see clues to prove Jonas isn't Adam and the timeline v world word use lol soooo close
So I think the jacket dejavu comes down to 2 things. Like you were saying, Michael has a sort of brain fog where he said what happened feels like a dream, so he's not actively thinking about things from his past. But I think the other part was seeing Jonas at that specific age holding the jacket. Michael has watched Jonas grow up, and maybe even with that jacket, but only now is he about the age he would be at the cave incident. As for the time machines, Adam and middle Jonas have explained that only the big one with floating dark matter can pick a date and travel to it. The cave and the portable time machine can only jump in 33 year increments.
Adam said that he knows what his younger self (presumably young Jonas and Stranger Jonas) is gonna do, but he doesn't know what his (Adam's) older self is gonna do, because he didn't see it.
So Claudia also can travel to any point on a timeline. Or she had access to Adam's machine at some point. Usually you can travel between 3 dates that are stuck in 33 year loop, but it's the same month and day. Claudia is dead pn that day at another year, that means it's the past version of her. So she coudn't use "normal device" for time travel to get here.
Hannah recognizing Mikkel as Michael at the very least if just something to cover their tracks, because someone is bound to comment "Wouldn't Hanna recognize Mikkel as Michael when they were kids?". The producers or writer certainly saw "Back to the future" and probably saw comments like "Why doesn't Marty's Parent's recognize Marty looks like their friend Calvin Klein? You figure they'd recognize him". I think that scene is so everyone can shut up if they start to think the same about "Dark". Wouldn't Hannah recognize Mikkel? Yes she would and here is the scene, we got it covered.
I find Michael's approach to God interesting. Back when Mikkel was in the hospital, he said he didn't believe in God. Noah later told him God has a plan for everyone, and does not err. Now, Michael believes that fully. He readily dies because he believes it's God's plan.

Fun fact the games was made by a total of 30 people and it is so much better than any AAA game I ever play. In fact its my most favorite game ever. It's weird how no one else really noticed that Jonas'was suddenly longer... Anyway... Fantastic episode. The writing in this series was off the charts.... And Netflix had the audacity to cancel the creators' 1899 series after just one season. One fracking bonkers crazy season... 😧
What Adam had said in the previous episode was that he doesn't know what the other person will do as long as he hasn't seen their future. To this Jonas said that Adam knows what he (Jonas) will do in the future. Which Adam answers with "I am your future". So he actually confirms that he IS Jonas and knows what he will do at any stage of his life up to his (Adam's) present day. Then he speaks about how it took him 66 years to find the loophole that could change everything. So, if you do the math: Jonas (16-17 years old), the "stranger" (49-50), Adam (82-83). It all adds up.
Considering the fact that they're not really into a certain part of the story (a certain relationship) I'm very curious what they will think about season 3 or rather the ending of the show and the importance of mentioned relationship.
About how long this has been - the first season is in November. This episode is in June if i remember correctly. And second season is in next year June.
Well, I would say all the little mistakes Michael makes while writing the letter due to not remembering correctly come out precisely the way the letter is actually written. Because he already wrote it before.
An important realization to make is that the "cycles" are an illusion created by the characters intervening in their own lives. Jonas sees what he becomes and then naturally becomes what he saw, so he sees the same events twice: once as a young man, once as an older man. Because he retains his memories from the previous time he experiences the event, it feels like progress. It feels like he's on the next stage of the cycle, that the young Jonas he's interacting with is a "new" Jonas starting his cycle. But that's not really what's happening. There are no cycles. The timeline isn't repeating, it's simply non-linear. Jonas is born, grows up, and dies. He has a beginning and an end. There is only one Jonas* and one sequence of events. In order for a bootstrap paradox to work, time must be an illusion, everything in the timeline must exist simultaneously. If Jonas from the future creates a series of events in the past, the future must exist for the past to exist, thus the timeline is not a line infinitely growing, it's an infinite line that spawned into existence all at once fully formed. As the show puts it, "everything is now." So Michael didn't actually write it "before," he wrote it once. Whatever he deemed to write is simply what the letter is. *You know what I mean.
@@michaelhenry3234 even if the timeline is non-linear, the experience of time of an individual character is still linear. So there is a cohesive timeline for each character. Adam says Michael's death is the catalyst. If Michael doesn't kill himself, but clearly remembers everything... does he let Mikkel go with the kids to the cave? Does he let Jonas take Mikkel to the cave?
