I used more bags of pellets than you did, and I mix in some pine shavings. The pellets have been amazing g and have kept my chicken run dry all winter. It used to be a muddy swamp, even with a cover over top.
We've done those pellets too and then layered with shavings...I feel like it's a weird combo at first but it seems to take some of that dampness out of the bottom of our coop like you showed in yours! thank you for showing it on a larger scale and I hope you continue to heal up! -M
