Firstly this is a concise collection of advice and great work. Secondly i havent finished diwnloading yet but I'm going to guess that the magical land that contains this Black Desert must be called "Fantasy Lady Land" or "Love Dollia" or maybe "The Land Of The Glistening Skinned Sex Robots" it's GOT to be one of those. And don't ask me how I always guess this stuff right. I just have an eye for minute environmental cues and tiny clues that others never notice. I'm kind of an irl Sherlock Holmes. Honestly though? When looking at this beautifully rendered world I'm reminded of when a friend of mine was snooping in my brother's room and he reached under the bed then yelled "Ahhh! It's slimy!" then threw what turned out to be a distressed "glamour girl" magazine away from himself as fast as he could but it hit me right in the face. I had suppressed that memory... that smell... but that in-game image of the shiny face of what can only be described as a 14 year old's dream-girl's wet face has brought it all back. Not your fault man. It's nobody's fault. I... I'm sure the young lady had just been for a long run. This is my broken past and I'll deal with it.
Been watching for years and this video just reminds me how crappy bdo would feel without your guides. If you deleted your channel most people would just never know about half this stuff. Good on you man, thanks for all the work

As a long time BDO player there's a reason he's called the Jesus of BDO. His amazing knowledge and info has helped me and many others from the beginning and even end game content. Should look up his older vids to see his long hair as to why we call him the Jesus of BDO 😂👌

Hello ! Just an FYI for new players like starting new (fresh) I would suggest to start doing ancient stone chamber first . Because there are certain pre requisite quest that you need to complete through ancient stone chamber that will unlock certain QOL stuff for you guys ( such as camping ) make sure to NOT skip Calpheon as you would need to complete it to be able to start the “start with camping quest” to get your tent. If u start other regions make sure not to skip Calpheon
As a returning player who just came back to BDO after 2 years: - Morning light got me to 55 in about a day (8-10 hours). I skipped every cutscene I could which means that basically you turn in 5-7 things, and then fight a "boss" like monster twice. - One of the quests from the season automatically teleports you to the mainland once you're done with all the tales. I believe it's when you take the awaking quest from the black spirit. So you don't have to worry about getting back to the mainland, just go through all the tales on morning light, by the time you're done you'll be lvl 55/56 and then get to teleport off the island and you can continue your adventure on the mainland. - It's a great brain-dead way to lvl up if you're like me and were kind of bored of all the beginning areas/don't feel like just grinding low lvl mobs. And just want to get to awaking and start playing the actual game. - Obviously if you're new new or for some reason care about the story, start at stone chamber - The Magnus quest line is a huge fucking bore (saying that as someone who started morning light) and I've encountered more glitches in that quest line than I've ever encountered in all my time playing BDO in the past (not being teleported up from the instances, catch not appearing at the end of a quest, getting stuck in a fucking door, getting stuck on the fucking water fall, getting stuck in mid air in a dungeon room). I just wanted to voice that so if you're a new or returning player and hate this, you're not alone and it's OK to just go fuck off and do something else for a bit. I definitely couldn't push through it all at once. Felt like being waterboarded.

I also just came back after 2 years and while I love my witch, I feel so lost with returning (but I was still a super beginner when I stopped playing so its not like much has changed), and I've been wanting to make a new character to get the feel of the game again. This is a bad take op. Morning Light is objectively the worst place to start the game. If you haven’t unlocked fast travel with the magnus, Morning Light is torture because traveling to and from the island is a punishment. It’s a very bad idea to start in Loml for several reasons. Starting at the start of the game, the Ancient Stone Chamber gives you: *A pet and an outfit for each city the first time you do it. *Freedom to leave the quest line and do whatever you want like experience world bosses *After each city, do the 3 magnus quests and you unlock its fast travel portal and it’s connected storage. *If you do the story all the way to the end of Mediah/Altinova you unlock the story skip feature for your future alts.

The point of my comment was morning light wasn't as bad as the video makes it out to be, and as someone who prefers a more chill and brain-dead approach to getting started back in the game, i actually enjoyed it. Again..."as a returning player" (reference first 4 words in my original comment)...you could not pay me enough to do stone chamber again. Also even as a new player, within the season you get free pets, (at the time of my comment you also got free mounts, idk if that's still the case), so it doesn't matter if you start stone or not, you can leave morning light, never access that area again for another 300 hours, and be fine. By the time you need to go back (if at all) you can just complete the quests to teleport.
Played BDO nonstop from the release to around 2018-2019 and stopped completely around 2020. Reinstalled it and tried it yesterday and never been more confused in a mmo in my life. So this guide helps.

5:56 100% accurate. started during festa event on LomL, quit after 5 hours of spamming R cos i got so bored with every quests being a fetch quest and having 3 small bits of combat by the time i hit 50. took a few days away, watched a few vids like this, started a new acc, did the ancient stone chamber and right now i'm sitting here wishing i could play but theres maintenance. so yeh, to any new players, dont pick loml, you're just setting yourself up for failure.
Great video! Please leave make more for all of us newcomers. Honestly if there was a video just explaining each of the in game avtivities that would be so helpful. I'm still lost on how rifts work, nodes, crystals, artifacts!? Just for example, and also how do we even know what BIS gear is and how to start working towards it, all i know is, get boss gear then get fallen god gear but there are so many different ones to choose from. Anyway, great content. You got a new sub from me for sure.
UPDATE: this has been changed. you can now awaken before completing all the LoML main quests! LoML storyline actually blocks awakening till you are done with the storyline so that might be another thing to keep in mind when selecting the story.
@@Junesong_777 it's a problem for people who traveled to the mainland via ferry without knowing this, then leveling up via grinding/following another story line or people who timepieced and started in LoML
@@Junesong_777 if you didn't realize, i am not talking about my experience. there's been a lot of new players recently and occasionally i saw this question popping up in the game chat. specifically if you start with a timepieced character in LoML, you probably wouldn't want to do the storyline again to awaken.
This is likely a years worth of quest grind for a new player that does anything else besides BDO. It will prepare your account for the thousands of hours of silver grind you'll be doing to gear for PVP you probably hate. Good luck!

Coming back to BDO after quite awhile and cant remember jack about it. Picked morning light starting area. Hate it... I was about to quit again. Gotta re roll and just pick something else.
As a returning player I wanteed to be diuffrent and did land of the morning light...OMG was it painful, i would absolutely quit if that was my first experience.
This is the problem with mature games, they have all this complexity to keep older players engaged but new people, like myself, ,watch this and our eyes just glass over. I have played and raised a season character but just quit as the game started feeling like a job. EVE Online is like this.
The final quest of LoML drops you off in velia so the argument that it's far away from everything is really just for the duration of the quest line. The biggest gripe i had with LoML is that it's boring. There is like only 2% combat, the rest is just running between NPC's and talking to them.
Hi! I did simplified version on my second season character and still have serendia, mediah to pick. The line jump me to 58, then was last quest done from black spirit and talk with Fughar. But I don't like to have these old story line still on my page. How to avoid this, delete or something? Thank you in advance for answer!
I recently came back and started my season char from LoML and the hassle was unbearable when main quest stopped at around LV43 and next one's LV50...so I took an hour npc boat back to mainland and never went back lol...and I kinda get that "10 years" 😅
I'm a little confused about seasons in BDO. I'm assuming they work like every other game with a start date and an end date then a few weeks before the next season starts? I'm trying to decide right now if it's actually worth making a seasonal character because it seems like the current season is coming to an end, but I can't find any info on an end date so I'm really in a weird limbo right now where I don't know what to do. If I were to start a seasonal character now, would I have time to finish with pen tuvala and such or is it too late?

well i got recommended the newest Region and can relate on not really wanting to play anymore but i already used a Outfit box on that season character =(
Do not chose LoML for your second character if you used fughar timepiece on it. You will be stuck without awakening/succession and forced to fight bosses with enrage timer with a class you dont know how to play yet. Might get really frustrating.

This was a great idea. Also, LoML has nothing to do with the existing BDO Story/Lore, its Lore is totally side content that PA locked BiS items behind, sadly.
90% of people are wrong. Land of Morning light is probably the best noob friendly pick, with Eternal Winter the best leveler. If they choose Stone Chamber they risk being bored stupid and leaving the game, easily the slowest leveling route.
By the way which pen boss gear would you suggest , since i saw some other youtuber say new people could exchange pen naru gear for boss gear or something
What sucks is that I am a new player that just started with only about 2 weeks left in the summer season...but I am doing it anyway to see if I can get as much of the season rewards as I can before it ends

i started in land of the morning light questline like a week ago i just teleported to the mainland how do i start ancient stone chamber questline i try to use the auto guide in the quest tab but nothing is happening anyone knows what to do?
You can use the timepiece from a season character to power level one of those low level characters. Or if you didn't open the box for the outfit then you can store it
Hey EvilDoUsHArm for the more veteran players would you be willing to go over how to get 30k quests aka side questing in balenos/serendia/calpheon in the most efficient manner? I was trying to follow a guide by Choice but the guy who does it doesnt talk and just speeds through it
The best way is to just do full region questlines on all of your characters... and you'll need a ton of alts. It's very painful and a huge time investment, Balenos, Serendia, Calpheon, Mediah, Valencia, Kamasylvia, Dreighan, Winter zone and then the new Land of Morning Light... you want to do EVERY one of those on EVERY character you have. My best advice is to make it a long term goal and plug away whenever you have free time. If you try to make that your main focus you will burn out super quickly.
No. Once you do it on one, all your characters can access the quick travel and unlock their specific skill. Evil's guides on each of those quests are phenomenal and make them much easier to do. Don't miss them.
I am a veteran on a first character on a new account, and i started with the land of the morning light...i hate my life already. Can i go start the story on the main continent?:)
Unless the great goddess Karma is your best friend, there is no way to make those grinds any easier. Watch his guides, especially those that deal with increasing your drop rates, and then strap in for seemingly endless grinding/killing. They will test your determination, but if you are strong enough, you will get what you seek. I have done them and once you get the right skill on your fairy, they will be worth it. Fortis Mane!

This is a great video for any new and returning player. I didn't know you got bonus AP and DP for completing those later zones. That is great to know.

Something good to call out is the Cliff Weapon quest being a quick 90-900m cash injection, and it can only be done by players

its not a problem actually. I started in loml and just did awakening when i got out. You get out at around 56 anyway.

Thanks for all the great guides. Subscribed. Question: Is there a way to go from the "Mountain of eternal winter" questline into the Mediah questline (which is necessary for the sellable J-Hammer)? Or do i have to start over in Balenos? New player, nothing conpleted before on another char.

Coming back to BDO after quite awhile and cant remember jack about it. Picked morning light starting area. Hate it... I was about to quit again. Gotta re roll and just pick something else.
As a returning player I wanteed to be diuffrent and did land of the morning light...OMG was it painful, i would absolutely quit if that was my first experience.
Levi, please, PLEASE, you've got to show what graphics settings you're doing, as well as sharing your character customisations :)
This is the problem with mature games, they have all this complexity to keep older players engaged but new people, like myself, ,watch this and our eyes just glass over. I have played and raised a season character but just quit as the game started feeling like a job. EVE Online is like this.
The final quest of LoML drops you off in velia so the argument that it's far away from everything is really just for the duration of the quest line. The biggest gripe i had with LoML is that it's boring. There is like only 2% combat, the rest is just running between NPC's and talking to them.

Hi! I did simplified version on my second season character and still have serendia, mediah to pick. The line jump me to 58, then was last quest done from black spirit and talk with Fughar. But I don't like to have these old story line still on my page. How to avoid this, delete or something? Thank you in advance for answer!

oh i just found out about this book for leveling secondary characters. ive got 14 already so im a bit late for this book :D
I recently came back and started my season char from LoML and the hassle was unbearable when main quest stopped at around LV43 and next one's LV50...so I took an hour npc boat back to mainland and never went back lol...and I kinda get that "10 years" 😅
I'm a little confused about seasons in BDO. I'm assuming they work like every other game with a start date and an end date then a few weeks before the next season starts? I'm trying to decide right now if it's actually worth making a seasonal character because it seems like the current season is coming to an end, but I can't find any info on an end date so I'm really in a weird limbo right now where I don't know what to do. If I were to start a seasonal character now, would I have time to finish with pen tuvala and such or is it too late?
Hey I think they added balenos region to magnus so new players can port back to velia. They heard the feed back from players.

Somehow i cant find the Magnus questline ? I did The 2nd story line , The Mountain in Everfrost + the Awk, what should i do to unlock Magnus now?

well i got recommended the newest Region and can relate on not really wanting to play anymore but i already used a Outfit box on that season character =(
Do not chose LoML for your second character if you used fughar timepiece on it. You will be stuck without awakening/succession and forced to fight bosses with enrage timer with a class you dont know how to play yet. Might get really frustrating.

This was a great idea. Also, LoML has nothing to do with the existing BDO Story/Lore, its Lore is totally side content that PA locked BiS items behind, sadly.
90% of people are wrong. Land of Morning light is probably the best noob friendly pick, with Eternal Winter the best leveler. If they choose Stone Chamber they risk being bored stupid and leaving the game, easily the slowest leveling route.

What sucks is that I am a new player that just started with only about 2 weeks left in the summer season...but I am doing it anyway to see if I can get as much of the season rewards as I can before it ends

You can use the timepiece from a season character to power level one of those low level characters. Or if you didn't open the box for the outfit then you can store it

Hey EvilDoUsHArm for the more veteran players would you be willing to go over how to get 30k quests aka side questing in balenos/serendia/calpheon in the most efficient manner? I was trying to follow a guide by Choice but the guy who does it doesnt talk and just speeds through it
The best way is to just do full region questlines on all of your characters... and you'll need a ton of alts. It's very painful and a huge time investment, Balenos, Serendia, Calpheon, Mediah, Valencia, Kamasylvia, Dreighan, Winter zone and then the new Land of Morning Light... you want to do EVERY one of those on EVERY character you have. My best advice is to make it a long term goal and plug away whenever you have free time. If you try to make that your main focus you will burn out super quickly.
Will I need to complete the magnus questline on an alt also to get that classes unique ability?
No. Once you do it on one, all your characters can access the quick travel and unlock their specific skill. Evil's guides on each of those quests are phenomenal and make them much easier to do. Don't miss them.

Unless the great goddess Karma is your best friend, there is no way to make those grinds any easier. Watch his guides, especially those that deal with increasing your drop rates, and then strap in for seemingly endless grinding/killing. They will test your determination, but if you are strong enough, you will get what you seek.
I have done them and once you get the right skill on your fairy, they will be worth it. Fortis Mane!
