    This Dave bought MGK in late 2011. It was part of my changeover to ETFs. I bought Vanguard then because it was free to buy and sell for me. I still have my shares of MGK. I bought VXF, MOAT,, SPLV, and VYM back then too. I still have all those shares.

    I would tell young Edward to go 50/50 on VOO and QQQ.

      I was just about to comment this, 50/50 QQQ & VOO is pretty hard to beat, other then maybe 100% QQQ lol.

    Love the channel! Question: at what age would it be worth mixing in allocations of solid dividend/hybrid tickers like SCHD or DGRO? I was thinking of forgoing the international tickers for dividend tickers

      IMO these can always be a part of your portfolio. They still offer solid long term growth and diversification from straight growth ETFs. You could certainly push it off if you don't want the dividends for tax reasons.

    Really good picks list for younger investors with decades ahead of them. VOO, VUG, VGT, VTI equal weights suggested to our 19 YO son and for his parent's self directed IRA accounts with 12 to 15 years of time left to cook. Looking forward to your age 50+ picks list as this is also where I now find myself. Currently redeploying decades of taxable account growth proceeds into a portfolio that will pay the bills without having to sell shares while the retirement accounts continue to cook. A question please. At approximately what age would you start adding a Balanced/Bonds investment type to your portfolio? Something like a VTMFX for example.

      I'm slowly moving into bonds and a portion of that is in muni bonds. I would say I'm currently the 85/15 portfolio with some extra cash. I think other factors are tax bracket/income/state where you live/retirement date. Something like VTMFX would work well for me as a component now if I wanted to keep it simple and slowly grow it through my 50s.

    Fellow Dave here. It's my first year investing, and I'm already struggling with a dilemma lol.
    - I purchased some good insurance stocks and I'm up about 40% in three months.
    - Do you like to put a lump sum and never touch it again?
    - Or do you DCA on the way up?
    (I noticed at 1:20 you put about $3 grand in Microsoft but never added again.)

      Hi. That was just 1 screen shot. I have purchased MSFT several times since. With individual stocks, I tend to buy and hold. I add along the way but do not typically DCA. However, with ETFs I do DCA.

    Been a while since you put out an options trading video. Interested in what your thoughts are and how your trades have been working out over these last couple of months that the market has been hot. I bought BTC through Fidelity. Not the ETF though.

      I have been selling puts that are all expiring. Doing well but could certainly have been more aggressive with the strikes. I did pick up some PFE and BMY shares during their declines but happy sitting on those shares at the moment.

    I am not as young as Young Dave but I do have a decade or two left before my golden years and I would love to know why exactly Young Dave wants to invest in digital currency a.k.a. Bitcoin. Any Young Daves out there willing to share why Bitcoin isn't just a get rich quick scheme? It doesn't make your transactions easier, safer, or more convenient. You still have to convert it to dollars to use it which is not exactly cheap to do... so uh.. why?

    • @wealthadventures
      @wealthadventures  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi. With the introduction of the ETFs, BTC has grown in acceptance. Along with growing acceptance it is divisible, durable, fungible, portable, and scare which makes it a currency. I suppose more a store of value since it is hard to transact at high rates but you can still transfer large amounts around the world quickly. Now it may all blow up and if it does... My net worth will drop by 1-2%. However, what if it continues on the path that it has been on for the last 10 years? It was around $100/coin in 2014.
      I do understand the hesitation!

    Any reason why you choose other vanguard ETFs over VOOG (Vanguard S&P 500 Growth ETF)?

    • @wealthadventures
      @wealthadventures  2 месяца назад

      VOOG could certainly be on this list as could several others. It is a solid option. I went with VUG over VOOG for example.

    Ok so, what does older Dave do 3 months from retirement ?
