They characters actually not that good. It just you not good enough to understand it
People dislike NRS zoning because zoning as a whole in their games tends to be super strong. It’s not that any single zoner is broken, more so that zoning itself is hard to counter

@@Lanzetsu after i learned about the otg, i labbed to find out who could punish it midscreen. the punish window seemed strict so it was either a reversal punish or nothing. i only found 5 characters who could punish it, and they needed meter to really make it worth it. ky is the only one with multiple punishes (wakeup rtl and stun dipper rc), axl gets a 5p rc punish, chipp gets reversal banki messai, ram can reversal mortobato punish herself, and leo gets reversal super (leiden or whatever it’s called). if ram uses it to get out of the corner, maybe more characters can punish it, but i’m not sure. i’m sure somebody better/smarter will find something else, but most characters seem to just get their turn after the otg
He's a lot of fun, but easy to cheese with at really long range. So even if I like playing him, I'm very happy with the nerfs because it's obvious he's not supposed to be played like that. Heck, the devs even say it straight up in the update. When I was training with Chaos the day before the nerf I actually met some guy that was cheesing with him. It was a pretty hilarious mirror match, he kept firing at long range and I just waited until his ammo, focus and meter was gone and then rushed up and kicked his butt the way he's supposed to. Up close and personal, using the gun as a follow-up and combo extender pretty much, because his attacks are in general kinda weak and clumsy.
I feel like happy chaos would be more balanced if A) his reload wasn't so easy to do and cancellable out of and into everything and B) if he didn't have roll, Clone, or curse, which all lead to his zoning being too easy and his ability to exit pressure being too free. I speak as a former Happy Chaos main.

I don't really look at tier lists before choosing a character. I just choose what feels right. And for the record I have played happy chaos. I'm just not a fan of that style. I prefer rush down.

Nonono I wouldn’t say anything can be equally as annoying. Anjis super still loses to grab and doesn’t do anywhere near as much damage as rams. You can also otg after rams super for even more damage. It’s just ridiculous.
Anji's super can be countered and it's super easy to beat on whiff. Mortobato is a bit harder to beat on whiff, is faster than the best DPs, has huge hitbox and does tons of damage.
It's not a guard point super, it's just a counter. Easily baited, free punish, loses to throw. Incomparable to Ram's. But Ram's super is still just a super, it's one of the best in the game but it's not why she is strong at all. Her corner pressure with rekka dash cancel into sword throw is what makes her hard to play against IMO. Sure, you can mash out if they dash cancel, but if you guess wrong you are counter hit toast. It's best to just never be in the corner against her, but that is easier said than done as sword toss also carries you into a wall off of any stray hit.
fighting gio feels like fighting a good Little Mac player in smash if you play on a grounded stage. Trying to play neutral or footies with her is almost suicidal. Well, I say this as a jacko main. But I don't know if anyone else shares the sentiment.

The thing with Gios 2D though is that it's actually the dog attacking, and they Literally are not at all connected to their body. It makes sense that it's disjointed. What doesn't make sense is that for some reason May has a metric fuck ton of powerful disjoints that also build risc dumby fast for no fucking reason. It's dumb that some characters like testament have normals that do not connect to their bodies in anyway(like their f.s) and they for some reason don't get disjoints. Honestly, the answer is not to nerf 2D, it's to give characters the disjoints they *should* reasonably have so they can challenge it.

Notice when he shows how "busted" it is, he HAS to have the other character attacking or it otherwise WOULD NOT HIT. Start paying attention to the game, people. It's like NONE of you ever had to play against Dizzy in XRD and her ridiculously long range Punch/ buttons in general.
I main happy, yet I'm excited for the Zoning nerf that they gave him, just makes his close range better to use which has already been scary from the beginning, plus I couldn't zone for shit anyways 😂 I think they went about the right way for nerfing it and hopefully next patch after Happy players play more close range we'll see his normals get buffed a little bit to help out with that.
Was expecting to see GL's 2P on there, for the opposite reason. His fastest button, but extremely stubby, and for some reason gets low profiled by half the moves in the game. His crouching P gets low profiled. If Season 2 doesn't include a change to make his 2K a frame or two faster, I'll be very sad.
i think GL's 5P is even better for this. whiffs on every crouching character and even whiffs on standing gio and baiken, which makes that attack 100% useless sometimes. Funnily enough, it's a better antiair than the supposed antiair move (6P) bc it hits high and far and it's fast both on startup and recovery
GLD's 2P is also a 4frame trap into c.S, + on block for tick throws, combos into c.S on crouching hit, functions decently as an anti-air, and converts into one of his best KD's guaranteed. His 5P kinda dogwater tho

alot of people saying his gun combos and such broken but what i love about happy chaos is some of his nastiest shmix you can airdash into 3 j.2k's and then a j.p and at any point just delay and land and you have a low (i landed this on many people)
Agree with most of this, but what you said about Mortobato at 0:14 is factually wrong -and I swear I'm not just saying this because I'm a Ram main- . I feel like everybody was gaslit into thinking Mortobato is one of the highest damage reversal supers in the game when it's actually *BELOW* average. Mortobato does 160 damage, which is tied with Millia's Winger and Axl's Sickle Storm for the 15th most damaging reversal super out of the current 22 reversal supers in the game. Meaning only 5 other reversal supers do less damage. The REAL problem with it is the ridiculous range (which you showed later) and its combo scaling. And while it's definitely fast at 9 frames, it's not among _the_ fastest reversal supers. 7 frames - Sol's Tyrant Rave - Gio's Ventania - Millia's Winger 8 frames - Baiken's Tsurane Sanzu-watashi - I-No's Ultimate Fortissimo - Ky's Ride The Lightning 9 frames - Nago's Wasureyuki - Ram's Mortobato
Main reason Mortobato feels like it does so much more damage than other supers is because it only hits once, so it is less effected by increased scaling from guts as health decreases.
I mean it's the best 6p, but it doesn't really go against the design principles of the rest of the cast, it's just good. Every 6p beats most other moves
@@deddrz2549 Well, you can just deny any aerial approach in the game with A ZONER and Testament has really good ground attacks. I mean, if sol had that, I won't complain this much but even if you block the 6P, the pushback pushes to mid-screen (where you don't want to be)

millia and chipp are very different from gio imo... Millia and chipp heavily rely on mixups while Gio mostly relies on good neutral and pressure.

Its not upper body invul its just extended really high and is fast making it a great anti air.

Agree with most of this, but what you said about Mortobato at 0:14 is factually wrong -and I swear I'm not just saying this because I'm a Ram main- .
I feel like everybody was gaslit into thinking Mortobato is one of the highest damage reversal supers in the game when it's actually *BELOW* average. Mortobato does 160 damage, which is tied with Millia's Winger and Axl's Sickle Storm for the 15th most damaging reversal super out of the current 22 reversal supers in the game. Meaning only 5 other reversal supers do less damage.
The REAL problem with it is the ridiculous range (which you showed later) and its combo scaling.
And while it's definitely fast at 9 frames, it's not among _the_ fastest reversal supers.

Main reason Mortobato feels like it does so much more damage than other supers is because it only hits once, so it is less effected by increased scaling from guts as health decreases.

I mean it's the best 6p, but it doesn't really go against the design principles of the rest of the cast, it's just good. Every 6p beats most other moves
@@deddrz2549 Well, you can just deny any aerial approach in the game with A ZONER and Testament has really good ground attacks. I mean, if sol had that, I won't complain this much but even if you block the 6P, the pushback pushes to mid-screen (where you don't want to be)
not really broken. Zato's 6p is worse, as he can spam the move with that low of a recovery. testament's 6p is good and should not be changed. not like anyone who wants to win plays testament anyway
