5 exercises to improve your salsa spins

  • 🌪 want to get better at spinning?! 🌪
    Do these spinning drills DAILY ⏬
    But first! For every exercise remember to:
    • Pull your shoulders down
    • Hold your core
    • Elongate your spine
    • Keep your arms in front of you
    Now for the exercise drills
    1️⃣ Relevés / Heel raises:
    Focus on having your weight on the balls of your feet. Engage your core, quads and calf muscles.
    2️⃣ Spotting
    Pick a spot in front of you, at eye level, and don't let it get out of your sight! Now stand on your toes and make teeny tiny steps and start turning. Keep looking at that spot for ad long as possible, once you can't look at that spot anymore without tilting your head, whip your ahead around and try to focus on that same spot ASAP. Your head should turn last but arrive back at the starting position before your body.
    3️⃣ Pivot
    Stand with your feet shoulder width apart, stand on your toes. Turn your body to the left and step, with your full weight on the left foot, now pivot and step on the right foot. Repeat. Hold your core and keep your body square!
    4️⃣ Quarter turns
    Stand on one foot, glue the other foot to the standing foot's ankle. Now raise your heel and turn one quarter. Keep your body 'square'; don't twist your body. Turn right on your right foot and left on your left foot.
    5️⃣ Twist & Turn
    Stand with feet hip width apart, now twist to the right so your knees are together (but keep body 'square'), twist left and turn right. Repeat to the other side.
    ✴ Bonus tip: Once in a while, film yourself while doing this. I already saw a lot of things I can improve on thanks to making this reel 😅
