    This is a Very well done video as far as it goes! One of the main failure issues with electronic lenses is communication from the body either aperture, focus or stabilization, and repair involves replacing the Lens Contact Bridge Assembly (CG2-2311-000). I encourage covering this as many will find it helpful (and your production quality is excellent!)

    • @CameraRestore
      @CameraRestore  2 года назад

      Hi Chris, thank you for your message. Regarding the communication issue, there's one thing that I would have to say, the lens contact shoe tends to worn out significantly more than the camera contact shoe, don't know in your case, but to me, replacing the camera contact bridge happened extremely rare, and that because of a physical damage (pins stuck) or water damage (oxidation), at least on Canon cameras. Also, another big factor is the lens mount lock hole, with time tends to worn out if not used with care, and the lens connection may get out of its position, furthermore there is bad communication with the camera.
      Anyhow, that's a good point, this problem could be covered on a video regarding camera and lens communications issues.

I fixed the pins in the CF port, but now the LCD won't turn on :( everything seems to be in place, but the connecting film seems to be bent and slightly whitish in here 6:40, right there over the black locking piece. Is this film that delicate or could it be because I touched it with no gloves? If broken, what's its name to at least buy it 😢 I was trying to save time and money but now I see I doubled both of them. Hope you see this. Lovely artisan work

      Thanks, you will need to open up the camera and check if there's any bad connection at the pinpoint from inside. Check this video of the canon 6D where I'm explaining few things on that particular point ruclips.net/video/mF1ysEnEatA/видео.html. Before you consider to open up the camera, check that plate that I'm taking off from the hot shoe and ensure is free of rust!

    • @CameraRestore
      @CameraRestore  2 года назад

      The focusing screen is one of the most difficult part to clean, I’ve spent a long time to be able to clean it and even now I may end up failing. One side is shaped with nano-lenses so whatever you touch it with you will end up by damaging it. Maybe one day I’ll make a video about, explaining by text is almost impossible. The only thing you could do is by blowing some air to it with a blower, also the viewfinder optics gets dirty so this is a topic that need a proper video.

      Actually not, unless got damaged by moisture or water. On this model, the AF/Shutting is very well build. Are you sure you didn't mess around with the menu in some way?
