If your PDF is a scan of documents or designs, it can only be processed as a flat or merged image. Its text or design elements can’t be broken up for editing. www.canva.com/help/pdf-import/
@LaShondaMBrown once I make corrections to the imported PDF, can I copy/add it to another Canva design? I am creating an ebook and had to import a chapter from elsewhere.
Yes you can 🤎 When I’m copying pages in Canva I switch to the grid view by clicking on the button in the bottom right and the select the page. If you do that, it will copy everything over when you copy & paste

Is there a way to switch this feature off. I want to bring print-reay pdfs into canva and if it becomes editable it messes up my pdf.
You could save your PDFs as an image if you don’t want to edit it and import it that way
