      That’s because BLM didn’t have a big impact here, we are already known for being inclusive and diverse (not perfect obviously as nowhere will ever be). And it’s a lot easier to manage covid 19 when you don’t have 50 different states handling it 50 different ways. We weren’t experts at handling it here either. Our old folks homes got ravaged...

      666dynomax speaking as someone who had covid. I think it’s very real but it has been made a bigger issue than it should be. Economies are suffering over this. Canadian debt is at a record high and will at least double in the next couple of months. At a certain point we have to realize that the mortality rate even amongst older people is quite low and that a suffering economy will ultimately hurt everyone, not only the vulnerable.

      @Dylan Ford Why does it matter if the population is low, if anything it makes it better for the people already living here. I guarantee you that more americans immigrate here then Canadians emigrate and i'm glad that we don't waste our tax dollars on military as much as the us does. You guys are getting absolutely destroyed by covid and thats cause your leader is an incompetent idiot, maybe focus on you own problems before you start to worry about everyone else.

Once again i think a low population isn't bad because it improves quality of life for the people living there already. That shit about the swimming pools just proves that you are as stupid as your leader.

      Native land! Imagine this scenario; if Native Americans cross the Atlantic, invade and Colonize Europe, and slaughter most Europeans, and put the remaining populations in tiny reservations, for 500 long years. How would Europeans feel about it? Think about it. All they need is their beloved motherlands back, the lands that their ancestors forebears had lived through thick and thin, endured through hardships and all for generations. In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return it to rightful owners indigenous Native people. Remember, notorious global cardinal crimes such as, Slavery and Colonialism had long been over, why on earth is this notorious Colonization still lingering on? bbs.chinadaily.com.cn/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=724132&fromuid=764911

    Loved the video but think it missed a key component. Having universal health care paid through our taxes doesn't just give us good health care. It creates a fundamental difference in individual and societal mindset. In Canada we worry about our health and that of our children and parents but we don't worry about the actual health care costs. I've never met a Canadian who even thinks "how will I pay for that surgery" or fears bankruptcy when older if something happens. It's simply not part of our mindset. Yet I have talked to many American friends who say it is constantly something in their mindset. Does their job provide health care insurance and will it do so after retirement? Do they have enough in savings to get them through a major surgery? As a father, if I had to constantly worry about my health or that of my partner and certainly of our children then my outlook on life overall would be very, very different. A few examples: A friend who is a New York lawyer says she often wonders if she could lose her house someday if she had a serious medical problem. A birding friend in New Orleans tried to wait until she was 65 to have a hip replacement as her retirement benefits would cover it. But it was too painful so she had it done at age 64 for a cost of over $60,000. And oddly I met a retired couple once who said they hated Canada's socialized medicine. After saying this, the man, well into his retirement, said he had taken on a job as a security guard solely to access the health benefits of the job for himself and his wife. I thought it was so bizarre. This man who should be enjoying the last years of his life had to work for health benefits but at the same time thought universal health care was unacceptable.

      Something tells me you have never lived in Canada. It is easy to see a doctor call up your GP just like in the states, if you do not have one there is a government phone number you can call and you will have an appointment by the end of the day for sometime next week. The only problem is specialists and even then it is almost entirely elective or non critical conditions that have the wait times. If you are in serious danger of dying you go to the top of the list and see him immediately. If something came back on your test that is probably nothing but should be looked into you will see him in a couple of months. And if you want plastic surgery they will pencil you in for next year, unless again it is something urgent like burns.
      Now don't get me wrong there are some busy hospital emergency rooms but that is also true down in the US and sometimes individuals fall through the cracks but compare that to what happens in the US if your insurance runs out.

    • @brice7649
      @brice7649 6 лет назад +2

      It is true I have never lived in Canada but I would be willing to bet most of the people on here commenting about how horrible the healthcare system is have never lived in the U.S either. There is a lot of speculation on both sides. I think Canada is awesome is many many ways but it usually has to do with the people and health care never comes to mind for me. If canadians are happy with it that's great but it could never work in the U.S, the population is to large and the problems that do arise in Canadian health care (because there are problems with it, nothing is perfect) would be magnified Many times over simply because of the shear size of our population. I love you Canada, you are good people but I love my country and wouldn't live anywhere else. God bless Canada and God bless the United states of America.

      @@brice7649 its true on both side. (Canadian here) I have a friend who discovered he's alergic to something while he was studying in california. He called his insurance. Went to the hospital and everything went really fast. Here in Canada its true that you can wait a long time if your condition is deemed as not serious. I've waited 12hrs for a broken ankle. But, one time I went because I was peeing blood. They took care of me immediatly and went to a specialist right away. The problem with our emergencies, is people using it for small things since its free. I saw some french (from France) co-workers told me they went to the hospital for a cold and complained for waiting more than 12hrs. Thats the kind of problem we have. Nothing is perfect but at least you dont lose all your life savings if something happens

    The number of universities in the US is naturally greater than Canada Canada only has a population of 35 million the statistic should be per capita. Secondly can you please refer to the US as the US. America is a continent divided into two. Both Canadians and Mexicans are North Americans

      Reverted RF (or perverted RF) not sure which - North American. American English. Only arrogance can claim a continent, and a language, which by the way, originated in the U.K. The Americans think they are "special". Ha Ha Ha Ha. We aren't. We wear underwear, we dress the same, look the same, and are more corrupt than most countries on the planet. The Canadians COULD call themselves Canada of the Americas. But they are not that arrogant. They aren't as racist, they don't have the band of murderers called the NRA, and they don't have trump. On the world scale, that makes them far superior. And far better liked.

    The difference is simple. USA is a great country, full of diversity, best entertainments and opportunities, top notch education and best medical care … if you're rich. Not so great if you are poor; your freedoms and access to these things would be greatly restricted. Canada on the other hand is more of a social "equalizer" where the gap between the rich and the poor is not so obvious and good standard of living is more spread out among greater number of people. Every single person's well being is our good fortune not just for the fortunate few.
