Both are great CCs! I'm in the same boat as you - I have the personal Platinum but float around the idea of also picking up the Biz version for that 35% airline bonus. Thanks for the info + video.
I have never had the platinum card just the gold card. I want to get the platinum card too but I want to ensure that I will get the signup bonus points.
After having a Amex Gold card and receiving the welcome bonus points, how long should one wait before they apply for a Amex platinum card so that they can also receive the welcome bonus points on the platinum card?
Generally I would wait at least 6 months, but you need to make sure you can actually get the sign-up bonus. If you have ever had the Platinum card in the past, you wont be eligible. Just check with Amex before you apply to make sure you are actually eligible for the sign-up bonus.
Hi. I love your videos btw! Have a question? Whats best in your opinion, to get the Amex gold for my personal and amex platinum for my business or should I do it all the way around? Or just get the platinum for my personal and business? Thanks
Thank you Savag! It just depends on which benefits you will be able to use from each card. Currently I have just personal Platinum card and it is great, but I would like the Business platinum card as it offers the 35% Airline Bonus, this would suit me as I travel a lot. The Personal Gold card is a great card for earning points at grocery stores and at restaurants, and the dining credit and Uber credit pretty much cover the annual fee. Just make sure that you can utilize most of the benefits of a specific card before you do choose one, this will at least show you how much value you will be able to receive. Hopefully this helps?!
I think a good Amex trifecta setup would be the personal Gold card for 4X back on groceries and restaurants. Blue business plus for 2X back on everything else. Use points from both of these cards along with the Business Platinum basically to get a floor value of 1.35 cents per point(due to the 35% bonus) on flights without having to be flexible with finding award flights with travel partners. The consensus is Amex points are best used for flights. Most say specifically for business/first class international flights. When you're trying like hell to find an award flight and can't find one on a date that you actually want to book on I love the idea of being able to hop on the travel portal and get 1.35 cents at a minimum.
Yes this is for the US card, the UK cards actually have different benefits, as do other Amex Platinum cards from around the world. I have a comparison of Amex Patinum cards from around the world here if your interested: ruclips.net/video/ZLyvIfaqsIU/видео.html
Very detailed comparison video! I've used the Business Platinum for years. My go to card for travel and Dell purchases.
Thank you!
I think I need to get one very soon

@@jacobfain6504 Sounds like a good set of cards!
As you are giving the price in dollars im assuming this is for the american card, is the uk card the same benefits?
