to think the Russian campaign was only put in to lengthen the story mode, barely advertised in trailers, and soon became the one everyone remembered as being the best part of the series.

"On the Fuher's birthday, a barrage of Katyusha rockets will tear Berlin to peices. With your bullets, with your bayonets, with your bear hands. Do the same to their wretched soldiers!!"
This is what I love to hear in a war game, not heroic orchestral songs. This is how I imagine war would've sound to the unfortunate men that had to fight it. Even the final part when it does get orchestral it sounds more menacing than heroic representing how relentless the soviet army was.
@@Deathmare235 yea absolutely, I didn’t feel like a hero playing either the US or Soviet campaign in WaW. Just a beast that had given up its humanity in order to survive.
@@ethane1149You think like me. This kind of game is in line with the cruelty of war in reality. Just to put in perspective the rocket barrage pales in comparison to the actual opening barrage of the battle of seelow heights. It is considered the largest artillery barrage ever in human history when 9000 guns fired for 30 minutes straight
I fucking love the synthwave sounds at 0:57 ! It sounds so much like Terminator 2's soundtrack and it does a great job at conveying just how much of a juggernaut the Red Army was by 1945.
Pvt Chernov: Sergeant Reznov, there are survivors! Sergeant Reznov: These animals raped and mauraded their way throughout the Motherland without mercy. There will be none In return!
I think that's what they were going for. If the music makes you think of a war torn land strung with bodies and blood painting the pavement. That's war
Imagine playing against seven teams in "cnc: generals zero hour" being pushed into the corner of the map, holding out until they run out of troops trying to take on your defenses and then going on the offensive. Sending hundreds of men and tanks at their tiny armies in return, being constantly bombarded with artillery, aircraft, and superweapons.
Easily one of the greatest, purest, most badass examples of a track from a media franchise OST that perfectly encapsulates the feeling and energy of a force that is not only righteously victorious and on the decisive winning side (and in this case, a bit somewhat rightfully so), but also just as murderously psychotic and out for nothing but blood.
Where my favorite map upheaval and asylum came from lol best maps for me for online lol and getting the sawed off in the asylum and using that gun on the map asylum as well
The cinematic opening for this mission was just too good. Just seeing the Russian army encircle and surround the germans. And the mission starts with “Abandon your posts, Abandon your homes, Abandon all hope.”

to think the Russian campaign was only put in to lengthen the story mode, barely advertised in trailers, and soon became the one everyone remembered as being the best part of the series.
Not to mention that World at War's official art feature only the Pacific Theater, when the Eastern Front was just as brutal & merciless.
ReonMagnum The majority of the war was fought on the Eastern front, but Americans like to think of themselves as the "heroes"
***** Barely. They waited until 1944 to invade, and Germany was more interested in the Eastern Front.
***** I was referring to Europe, the D-day invasion, etc.
Bloodrun069 Yeah, the Russian side was the best part of the campaign, honestly.
"Abandon your posts, abandon your homes, abandon all hope!" what a battle cry, I would have used something like that were I leading that army.
Should use it in an rts like command and conquer.
