Back in the 90s, I was coming from The Sheraton Universal. I'm a white 35 year old dude wearing a white collared dress shirt and suit jacket in a Black BMW. There was a detour and I ended up lost in Watts at one in the morning on a Sunday. The locals wondered wtf and the LAPD beat cops kept tailing me. Once I saw the Randy's donuts big-ass donut in the sky I headed for it cause I knew the 405 South to OC entrance was just beyond it. You've got a good show Lamont. You brought back that memory! Funny now, not back then.
I myself got lost in the South Central Watts area of Los Angeles in January 1999. I was a homeless man coming from a shelter and I had to get all kinds of paperwork signed with the welfare office. The workers at the shelter gave me a ride there on Imperial and some bus money to go back to the shelter and I did not know the area. I was lost and walking around. Minding my own business, this black guy started following me. Then he started asking me for money. Then he started screaming at me to give him money. Right then and there a bus pulled up and I got on it no matter where it was headed. I am not a big person and I am not trained in karate by any measure. I was 32 years old at the time. How about 10 minutes later I got off the bus and I called the shelter telling them I was on a certain Street and it came and picked me up in one of their vans. It was right there and then I called my family and they got me money to get back home to New Jersey. Being lost in South Central was not a nice experience as I have heard of the place many times and NEVER thought I would end up anywhere near that place. They really are a type of species these blacks, aren't they? Rob, rape, and ruin. The three Rs which they enjoy so much.
I've been living here in Vegas for 16 years now, I used to ride the bus for years. The RTC hasn't really gotten better , people are getting killed on the Vegas buses lately. Smh

Freaking hilarious, and when you talked about rides reminded me of years ago I needed a car and bought one off a crackhead for like $300. It actually wasn’t bad on the outside I worked in a factory and we carpooled. When I went around picking up my friends for work they all piled in ( this thing was a boat ) it leaned heavy to the side and only the drivers side door worked 😂 but we made it !!! It lasted for just a few months then broke down lol

I live in NYC and city buses are quite the hassle throughout most of the day, not so bad at night though. We don't have large bus stations or terminals for city buses but for regional (long distance) coaches it's a different story. The infamous Port Authority Bus Terminal in midtown comes to mind. I hated going into that place because of how shabby, seedy, and confusing it is to navigate. It's dreadful, anything but modern. And the people you encounter (aside from travelers) are simply the worst of it. Homeless, addicts, loonies, you name it. They're busy panhandling, sleeping, doing god only know what in the bathrooms, all to ensure that they have what they need in order to survive a night locked inside once they close off the subway entrance and you need to pass through police with a ticket on hand prior to entering. And this is the same situation in other cities I've visited, such as Philly, Buffalo, Albany, Atlantic City, etc via bus. You can avoid all of this on Megabus, in exchange for exposure to the elements and no bathroom facilities though. Cars are great, when the economy allows you to afford one that is. But living in a place where you have to leave one outside on the street, vulnerable to vandalism and tickets is another deterrence all together. Simply put, you just get used to mass transit. When from heaven come lemons you learn to make lemonade. Thanks for the ear.
I took the shuttle bus in San Antonio airport and it was so ratty and old, I had to jump down onto the curb because there were no stairs. All the people looking scared because the driver was going so fast. Omg never again I’ll walk brother, I’m good.
I drove a 2002 Impala with a bad transmission for 4yrs till junked it for $300 last week and bought a nice red 2006 Cadillac CTS off my dad for $100 but the water pumps bouta go out
I was last year to Las Vegas, I’m Not US citizen and I used 98% of the time spent there the bus like transportation, nothing happened to me but all the time something was happening in the bus, many drunk or under influence of who knows what!
