Thanks Rusty for showing how to get the cylinder out. I bought a nice '91 310c, 4wd, extend, this spring but that cylinder needs new seals. Dipper looks to be rebuilt but boom looks original. Seems overwhelming but you make it look fairly simple. Did your pins come out fairly easy and did you find a way to line up the pin in the boom? Did oil keep dripping while you got new hose made? Have you tried to rebuild any of the cylinders? I'm about to buy a 1" impact and give it a try. Getting a bit old but want to try. Not many vids on the 310c and there's a bunch out there. Thanks for your video.
its not too hard just heavy. i didnt have a issue with fluid leaking out the lines after disconnected and lining up the pins isnt that hard its not as hard as it looks most of them ive replaced have been fairly easy and i have a company rebuild them i dont do any of the rebuilds
Rusty thanks for the video of the cylinder removal. Did you ever post one of the cylinder installion after the hose replacement? I'm like you, I don't know of an easy method to get upper pin installed. I am facing the same thing on my JD 310A but I am 76 years old.
i thought i did post it but maybe it got lost all i did was hook up the base hook up all the lines the extend it up until it lined up with the 2nd pin i used a crobar to alighn it while my friend knocked it threw
@@uglyhp8225 Rusty: I did find it under a separate video for the boom cylinder install. Before I go thru the trouble of pulling the cylinder, I am going to try and put in a section of new hose from the control lever down to an area where I can install a field union. If it works, good. If not I'll pull the cylinder. At 76 I want to avoid as much bull work as possible.
