There’s two thing I love about this: A Grand Trunk GP9R is still earning its keep AND they renumbered the 4632 back to its as delivered number of 1751!
These are newly painted! The GP9R used to be the G&U black and yellow and the MP15 1501 used to be a patched ex-CSX like the others. This is a brand new scheme for this railroad but it does remind us of the Rip Grand or Wheeling & Lake Erie :)
@@plasminojen I grew up in Fort Collins Colorado during the 80’s and 90’s, I loved seeing the Rio Grande locomotives! Out of all the railroad companies back then they were my favorite for whatever reason and still are.
Every time I see a tape on this line something else has changed. Bold new. Paint scheme what is the so that's probably the sharpest looking MP15AC out there. A bit reminiscent of the Wheeling and Lake Erie
Here is what I think: All the railroad Lines that were ripped up by the Class 1 Railroads because of PSR, I say they should be rebuilt and turned into new Class 2 or Class 3 railroads. That is if the roadbed wasn’t ripped up and then built over with buildings and houses.
I see as the rail line ages it becomes less insurable. See when I was a kid our short line was Southern Pacific Railroad. Then it was Kyle for a few years. After a derailed boxcar killed some homeless people the line was refurbished to 49 mph and the San Joaquin Valley Railroad ran it for many years and now Glassicer & Wyoming own it?🎉
Railways are doing this for a reason...once all intermodal they will go with intermodal blimps. Its about 20 or so years away, but when i worked at omnitrax this was what they were talking about ....they are already filling containers with grain and sand....its coming....
Very nice catch 👍
Nice catch! I like the new paint scheme, and although I love MP15’s it’s nice to see the 1751 in use again too.
A heartening sight! Thanks
Great catch!

She’s been 1751 as long as she’s been on the G&U. She’s been OOS for so many years and it’s so good to see her operating!
Love that they kept the Rio Grande paint schemes on the other two

@@ShawnCalay you’re a day late and a dollar short in letting me know. The poster of the video informed me already.
Thank you
