Soucek was really solid. Prefer him with Rodriguez and maybe Soler. Paqueta has too many mistakes in his game. Somerville on the left Kudus on the right Bowen in the middle, looks strong for me.

Three points gratefully banked. Todibo & Kilman immense. Steidten, keep an eye on Delap. Individual attacking excellence papers over J-Lo’s tactical failings, especially in midfield. ⚒️COYI⚒️
Three of our goals were team goals, and defenders don't excel in a team that's only won due to "individual attacking excellence". Lopetegui got his tactics right today and Soucek was very good.
That back four is getting to look like it has very strong potential, only doubt being Emerson’s defending. Otherwise potential to shut out anyone in the Prem once they’ve played together another few times.
The side that got Ipswich promoted were on the bench, this is a good side in the making, we are in transition so it was interesting game and if they learn to be more clinical they will give most teams a tough game.
He was all over the opposition, supporting, had some ups when he would throw himself into play and make progressive moves. Loved watching him yesterday.
Both our wins in the league this season have seen us playing 4-1-4-1 with Guido holding, Tomas and Lucas ahead of him. Alvarez started neither game. Coincidence?
Reminded me a bit of Rio Ferdinand in some aspects of his play. Be a bigger test next game; if he does well against Solanke I’ll start to believe. On that performance though he looks the real deal imo.
I said early last season that Moyes had a Ferrari of an attacking unit but only used it to go to Tesco's. Well now we have a Rolls Royce in the garage too, and it's name is Todibo. Really wanted to call him as MOM, but Bowen proved yet again just why he must stay on the right wing. Equally brilliant at cutting inside and making his own goal or taking it to the by-line and cutting it back for someone elses. COYI
Having a settled defence hopefully that’s is it now is paramount to any successful club I’ve seen even. if some things don’t go right on the attacking front to keep clean sheets or at least the goal ratio against us down will give us half a chance of nicking games.
Hi Geo. Been listening and reading everyone’s comments on Paqueta yesterday. I saw it differently. I felt he allowed Kudus Bowen and Souchek to perform better. Of course he lost a few balls but that’s his known weakness. Checked WhoScored and his rating was 7.78, best this season. Maybe worth analysing. 🤔⚒️⚒️⚒️

@@HammersChat Absolutely you are. Not a dig at you, mate. Just an observation I wanted to share that I think is disappointing, cycling through social media.. maybe I should put the phone down and go for a Sunday walk instead..😅
It was only Ipswich, after we have played six of the top nine teams in the league, 4 of the top 5 teams, with new players and coaches, who barely knew each other just a few short weeks ago. We are still barely into October. We have Spurs and Man U next. If we come through this strongly we will be in the top six by next April.
Totally agree - Todibo was really good - he was not going to be done - he was quicker, stronger and looked very classy - fingers crossed this carries on
Poor 1st half with a lack of quality but once we started to press especially 5 minutes before the end we showed our quality. Kudus goal before HT was pivotal. Really enjoyed the 2nd half performance & really happy with the 3 points. International break once again comes at a time when we’re getting some momentum 😔
Clear to see why United and Juve wanted Todibo. He looks fantastic and his partnership with Kilman has the potential to be the best we had in years. Let’s see how they get on against better opposition though
We were improved but can’t tell by how much until after the next game, pleased for the win and the relief it brings but fuck me, their keeper and defence must be sitting at home waiting for match fixing charges to be served on them.
Although the defence looked more secure and I am glad to see Todibo blend well with Kiliman there were still some ‘let-offs’ eg Greaves completely unmarked at a corner, if he had been on target to make it 1-2 then the anxiety around the stadium would suddenly have resurfaced and result could have changed; we will be punished by stronger teams as was the case at Liverpool.
Managers have to be patient with putting players in regardless of their ability, I look at what Kudus said about him appreciating that Moyes did by getting him ready before giving him a full debut
Todibo does seem to be an upgrade on Mavropanos; the rest of the team did well too. I hope things are starting to click now and this performance wasn't flattered by poor opposition.
You’ll get a row for saying Ipswich were poor. I thought Todibo was tested by Delap tbh, I thought Kilman was unchallenged throughout and cruised through

Was quality and will only get better because new to league, didn’t have a pre season, new partner, new team……..he looks some player and obviously wanted by steitdman and j lo and why they so persistent to get him
Paqueta should be dropped all his laying on the floor injured whilst the game goes on around him is getting old and for all his skill he is a liability and lets not get carried away here after all it was only Ipswich who were in league one two seasons ago whilst we were in Europe...lets see how we do against a spuds team that will be on us from the first minute to the last...have a feeling then Emerson will be weak link and Rodriguez wont cope with the pace they play at and covering for a Paqueta oh i think i pulled some hair out of my chin injury laying on the floor crying.....ahhh just needed to vent and glad its done now.
It’s what the comment section is for and I’d rather people were honest. You can be happy with the win but frustrated about Paqueta - I don’t necessarily disagree with anything he said really.
Spot on, I actually thought he had another poor game. Gave the ball away several times, didn't close down Delap for their goal. Good teams that press up on us have done and will continue to thrive on Paquetas fragility on the ball. He needs to improve big time.
McKenna got it wrong, and Lopetegui got it right, but we had better players and that is the difference. I also thought McKenna was ungracious in defeat, claiming we were hoof-balling

I really do not agree that Ipswich were "that poor", they could have been leading in the first half. And they have drawn against good teams. I just think West ham were better.
@@HammersChat They did better against Aston Villa than we did - that tells me something. It tells me they can play well, as I rate Aston Villas team at the moment and as such it also tells me that we have improved since we played Aston Villa. Surely all we have is comparisons?
I agree but that’s only backing up my point imo, they were good against Villa but that doesn’t mean they played well yesterday. In that case, we play well against spurs in 2 weeks because we beat Ipswich.
@@HammersChat All is opinion when it comes down to it. But if you agree Ipswich could have been winning in the first half, you must consider it a possibility they did not play badly, at least for parts of the game. My view is more that West Ham played better than that Ipswich played badly. I agree it doesn't prove it but what could prove it either way?
I can't tell you how bad losing makes me feel, so yesterday was good. The idea that Ipswich were crap is not true. When they had the ball they looked dangerous but they made errors that you can get away with in the Championship. But aren't in the Championship any more
I think he was bang average at best personally. Which I guess is better and not bad, compared to earlier in season but I think he was our least effective player yesterday.
He's given the ball away a hell our of a lot. Had a couple of shots he's blasted into row Z too. I'm hoping the goal gives him confidence, even if it was a tap-in

my MOTM⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒
Was a great result and Tobibo will only get better . Midfield still worries me against better teams where I believe games are won and lost .
Being positive we either got a draw or lost against this type of opposition last season Burnley at home .
I disagree with the last part as we beat Luton Town just as easily.
Better teams will drop points against Ipswich though, on their home patch.
That’s a fair point the Burnley game lives long in my memory for all the wrong reasons
To win the next 2 games J-Lo should drop Paqueta
First off, I enjoy and look forward to this show daily.
I hate the media as much as the next guy but I’m American and the only way for me to keep up with west ham obviously is thru media.
English media is by far the worst for clickbait and tryna spread worry.
Need to play like this every time🎉?
I know it’s only Ipswich but Souchek was excellent as well team played well but there are obvious issues and better teams will cause significant issues as our midfield was slow allowed too much space and Antonio offered not much upfront apart in being a flat track bully need , more against better sides
Was quality and will only get better because new to league, didn’t have a pre season, new partner, new team……..he looks some player and obviously wanted by steitdman and j lo and why they so persistent to get him
I hope lopetegui realizes that after the international break you don't start Antonio 🙏
He did get a goal.
Venting after a 4-1 win is a new level of miserable.
Have you heard of this strange new fashion called punctuation, mate?
McKenna got it wrong, and Lopetegui got it right, but we had better players and that is the difference. I also thought McKenna was ungracious in defeat, claiming we were hoof-balling
Geo I know we have to pay the money for John Claude
The end of the season but I hope they have started planning for life without Muhammad cordas
Because as we all know and I know I am only stating the obvious but he has a buy out
If we keep playing him out of position he won't want to stay anyway great performances yesterday great hefford
It would be lovely if we see that effort weekend workout
Kind regards Irish JP
Background of Gonzo is like a hostage ransom video

@@HammersChat stupid auto correct 🤣
@@FinnGurrer-e1syour autocorrect corrects Geo to Gonzo? What kind of sorcery is this.
Personally think ipswich are half decent
We were begging for someone like mckenna but his tactics yesterday were shocking
If he is the one telling them to sod about at the back and from goal kicks with a keeper who cant kick and ben johnson then he is very very naive
That have a great pair in delap and omari up top and not sure how smodicsz dont start
Great result especially as i live in felixstowe 10 minutes from ipswich 😂😂
Yeah I don’t rate Burns too much myself - think Ogbene and Szmodics are much better options
@@HammersChat fully agree with that
"Only Ipswich". before the game, everyone was talking about how good they actually are and how we could very well get beat by them. After we smash them, they are " only Ipswich". Not aiming that at you Geo, just an overall observation.
I was about to say, I make this point myself but am in the ‘Ipswich was poor’ camp as well.
I thought he was man of Match
I wouldn’t argue with that, was Bowen for me but can understand anyone giving it to Todibo.
If Ipswich go down, I'd like us to go after Delap. He looks a very good striker to me.
Agree mate..Tim should go for this guy
anyone heard from floorless?
He has renamed himself "clueless"
Heard he got delayed with his analyst; treatment programme taking a bit longer than first envisaged.
He’s changed his name, maybe because he owes me £50 and will be £100 if we don’t get relegated.
Man who doesn’t pay his losing bets.
Floorless was a regular customer at those Diddy parties
@@steveharris2369Haha, anal-yst 🍩 😂
I thought Todibo is looking better. I don’t think he was outstanding yesterday. He did well but was getting a bit tight but recovered well when he did.
Delap will cause defences plenty of problems with his physicality but Jesus-Christ Torpedo kept him at bay
TODIBO WAS UP AGAINST SECOND RATE FORWARDS. LET'S SEE IF HE CAN DO THE SAME AGAINST HAALAND
I disagree, I don’t think Delap is ‘second rate’. Haaland is world class though.
If Ipswich get relegated in May, perhaps West Ham can steal Delap and Greaves from them?
I'm glad jlo waited until todibo was ready to start instead of listening to the fans ...he looked like a young rio ferdinand yesterday...I'm not gonna get to carried away but he looked top drawer coyi
Tbf not everyone was wanting Todibo in every game……
@HammersChat I definitely didn't want see him after watching against Bournemouth..I thought we brought a donkey lol
@@dannyovid8139 me neither tbh, but Todibo himself has said Lopetegui has done the right thing giving him time to settle in. Looks like a well planned an executed inclusion, so far. Little evidence but he was fantastic yesterday.
Still think if JLo had to go to Wolves for centre back, Dawson would still be a better option.
I really do not agree that Ipswich were "that poor", they could have been leading in the first half. And they have drawn against good teams. I just think West ham were better.
Their results prior doesn’t determine if they were good yesterdays or not.
@@barrykrishna9981 but I don’t think Ipswich could have been winning at half time - that’s your opinion, not mine!
First Paqueta then Areola were at fault for their goal. Nothing to do with Todibo
I can't tell you how bad losing makes me feel, so yesterday was good.
The idea that Ipswich were crap is not true. When they had the ball they looked dangerous but they made errors that you can get away with in the Championship. But aren't in the Championship any more
Just because you disagree doesn’t make it true/untrue. It’s a difference in opinion.
@@HammersChat True. But watch the game back
I will as I always do but given how many others agree with me, am not Expecting to change my mind
JCT was easily MOTM.
it was Ipswich.
Why is everyone hating Paqueta he literally hasnt been bad past couple games
I think he was bang average at best personally. Which I guess is better and not bad, compared to earlier in season but I think he was our least effective player yesterday.
@@HammersChat he wasnt bad tho everyone is acting like he’s terrible
He's given the ball away a hell our of a lot. Had a couple of shots he's blasted into row Z too. I'm hoping the goal gives him confidence, even if it was a tap-in
@@lewis4929 because hes not a safe footballer👍
@@beaugromowski-cook505 safe?
I thought Todibo was very good against Brentford- did you not think so Geo?
Yeah I did.
@@HammersChat it’s just you said he’s only had one good performance and this would make it two
Good players don't feel pressure, the only people who think they feel pressure are the fans who are normal people
I disagree for various reasons but that’s your opinion.
Todibo wasnt fit vs bournmouth and also he played well against brentford aswell u forgot to mention that
I didn’t forget, I thought he was good against Brentford but am not discussing that game.
Ipswich havent even won a game. So lets not get ahead of ourselves
You are all blind i think.Soucek does not mark anyone except the referee. By the time he wakes up we are defensively exposed. Sure he is good in the air defending but against clever ball players in front of him he is hopeless . I am getting my boots out ready for a call from Lop.COYI

A really good performance but we need to back it up now by targeting 7pts from the next 3 games in my opinion we are more than capable of achieving it.
