What if the first and third of these seemingly unrelated five songs were briefly reprised at the end and the long fadeout was replaced? Here is the result.
Randy Crawford is just the best. And Richie Havens' vocal on the final track is just killer. What talent! Steve Hackett's best album in my opinion. I know I'm the minority in that view, but I don't care. This album hits me hard every time I listen to it. More serious than "Acolyte" and more soulful than "Spectral Mornings". A true masterpiece. Thanks, Steve.
Definitely among his very best. He has so many great ones...this album, i often played on my radio show, back then. Listeners favorite were "Narnia" and the title cut, For me his best albums are. "Darktown", "Spectral Mornings" and this one.
Its the best for me too. Crawford, Havens and don´t forgett Steve Walsh. And.....I will allways remember the time with my first girlfriend in my first car listening this music. "The same light shines on vinyards, that makes deserts its true. What awaits me if I follow you." 🥰🥰🥰
Mannnn I haven't lsstened to this album in many many years, but it still sounds great. Who could have ever imagined Steve with Randy, absolutely beautiful composition. I can't remember the name of the song with Ritchie Heavens, pure magic. Steve will always be one of my favorite guitarists and composers...thanks fella
Please, i hope you can help me! In the 80‘ i heared a funky startet version of „please don‘t touch“ with a slaping bass and many guitar fill ins. I can not find it! Do you know this? It was a studio version made between 1978-1982.

Steve è sempre stato un grandissimo compositore. Peccato che nel periodo Genesis non gli abbiano dato lo spazio che meritava.
One of my favorite albums
Que recuerdos...año 78.....el tiempo de la felicidad...el tema Please,don,t touch increíble.....👍

Man kann hier die Widerhallen von Genesis zuhören
The most suitable bridge between Randy Crawford and Richie Havens.
What a voice. can anyone dislike?
Perfeck
❤
Really nice mix. It almost works 100% for me, though I don't pretend to be able to do a better job. Thanks for sharing.
I like the original version better.

That would probably be "Hackett to Bits", from the GTR Album from 1986, where Steve Hackett worked with Steve Howe of Yes and Asia.
@@johngathercole2328 thank you very much!

I know Genesis by heart and Steve of course but who sings on the 1st trace ?
Randy Crawford
Die Liebe und Schach: 2 entgegengesetzte Welten?
