I agree, it was fun. There really weren't any skills to appreciate though. Canelo was hitting a punching bag. I mean I can watch Kimbo Slice's fights and I'd see the same thing. Boxing needs both brawlers and technicians. MayPac could've been better but I've seen much worse.

James Kirkland I am still your fan. One thing about you brother you dont quit. You are about that life. You will be back this is only your 2nd loss. Yes the causal fans will write you off as a bum. But i know you got the heart and will to be champion again. Anything is possible in Boxing. Get some much deserved rest. Time from the sport to get your mind right. Kirkland hasn't fought in 21 months, last 6 opponents had no more than 22 victories and one of them knocked TKO'd him, he is good for canelo... Canelo is all bad for him, what's amusing is people are actually tryna hype this fight up like Kirkland has a chance in beating canelo, just accept it, Kirkland was cherry picked, you can comment and say what ever you want but you know Kirkland is gonna easily get smashed and he has very little chance canelo will look phenomenal against him 👌👌👌
Carl Allen 8 years ago the boxing media told me that Kirkland was gonna be the next superstar to take over boxing. This was just before he went to the pen. I still think James is a dangerous and live dog in this fight. I don't think Canelo is elite anyway.
hawkermustang 8 years ago canelo was 16... and Kirkland was 23 and was only 17-0 and after reviewing his record and opponents I don't see any notable victories that could have made people think he was the next superstar to take over boxing everyone he fought at that time were cab drivers and janitors with bum records except for 2 or 3 , Kirkland is gonna be rusty and it's a skill mismatch that's just my opinion, the canelo fans are actually lying trying to hype Kirkland up like he is dangerous and is a huge threat, but then you see a majority of them predicting a TKO in under 5 rounds lol its funny man, but hey canelo is only 24 he's my age so I can't really do nothing but give him a chance he still has 10 plus years left in boxing unless he retires in his early 30's which I hope he don't , I love his style of fighting and look forward to him fighting big names and top contenders, only big names on his resume in my opinion are mayweather, lara (that should have been a draw) and Austin trout
livebreathmma If you like to think Canelo is elite that's cool. I like Canelo, but I have never thought he was an A level boxer, but very few are. I think Canelo is a B level fighter. He is good, and I hope he starches Kirkland tonight. BTW, I can't stand Mayweather, but I picked Floyd to school Canelo. He did. But Canelo clearly whooped Trout. And to me he whooped Lara, all that running Lara did was shameful to me.
Carl Allen HBO was building Kirkland up huge before he went to prison. He hasn't lived up to the hype though. He went to prison. He sounds punch drunk stupid. He has been turning down big fights like a diva. He already turned down a 500k fight with both Canelo and GGG in the past. I question his mentality. James is a wild card. And he is dangerous.
