I thought this for a while now but personally I disagree I think Demidov is going to be a better player than Michkov… I always saw Michkov as a Kaprizov Type ceiling, For Demidov he’s close to Kucherov/Panarin in pure skill and IQ… 120+ points for Demidov is definitely possible, Everything Michkov does Demidov does it better except for the their shots, Michkov is a better shooter… I was more excited about Demidov in 2023 as a prospect than I was Michkov.. Demidov and Ryabkin are the two Russian prospects I am and have been the most excited to see as they continue to grow.. Michkov is going to be a great player dynamic goal scorer, But Demidov will be a better player and playoff performer, I can see Michkov scoring 50 goals 50 assists 100 points, Demidov I can see scoring 40 goals 70+ assists… we shall see how it all goes but this is just my opinion and I have been saying this even before we took Demidov I just believe he’s better… Habs got a really good player here that’s for sure..

On Catton the big question is would he have been a 50+ scorer in the OHL or in the Q this season ? And that's a "most likely no" to me. Still has amazing talent, don't get me wrong, one of those kids for which the size thing won't matter much in an NHL season (a bit more so on the playoffs) as long as he muscles up nicely and keeps improving his evasiveness which is already quite superb. Seattle is the perfect team for him to be drafted to, they have a prospect pool of forwards that is probably the very best in the league right now : Firkus, Goyette, Wright, Rehkopf, Miettinen, Sale... That group is purely built on dynamism and skill/abilities much more so than size. They're fully embracing the very fast paced skilled games route, and that's the best he could've hoped for. A fun fun team to watch in a couple years, if not this next one already.

Sadly that is the best Habs can do for this coming season.
The bottom two lines are a worry.
IMO nothing changes until the 2025/26 season when the current crop of UFAs are away. So one more season of pain with a top 5-7 pick and then we get to see how well Haps rebuild has progressed.

The sky is the limit with Ivan Demidov's potential.
I see him and Slaf killing it out there in a few years.
I think both of them will have awesome careers.
Slaf has the potential to surpass Marian Hossa in pts.
I think he'll be the 3rd Slovak player to get over 1000pts.
Demidov has the potential to end up top 5 most pts in the NHL by Russians.
I have a good feeling about Hage too. I think he's going to be the Habs captain in the future.
He's going to become a Jonathan Toews/Micheal Peca type of player.
I would have picked Justin Poirier instead of Sawyer.
Or to the very least, they made a mistake picking Vecvanags 134th.
They probably planned to pick Poirier 166th instead of Merrill but Poirier got picked 156th.
So if they had picked Poirier 134th, I believe Vecvanas would still have been available at 156th. Oh well...
