I was thinking to upgrade but was afraid I'd lose the plug n play feature if you were to take out the factory hdd but thanks to you I'll reconsider...thank you.
Alberto, You should have covered your NVR's QR-Code on the outside cover during the first couple of minutes. You are likely fine if you have a Firewall/Router and limited access to only the Ports needed, however I would try to edit this video to blur that code out.
I was initially concerned about this before posting the video, but even when I viewed the original video at the highest resolution, I couldn't scan the QR code. I checked on a 4K monitor and it's too blurry to discern the QR pattern. Plus, I changed the admin account username and password.
Yikes! Sounds like a security risk to me. I value and respect that you’re helping others by notifying them. Most people wouldn’t speak out when they see it. It restores my faith in humanity to see that people still care. I certainly appreciate your efforts. Thank you!
When I powered up the NVR, I didn't have to format the HDD. Luckily, it worked right from the start. And yes, the Reolink NVR software was already in the unit with no additional downloads or installation required. My guess is that they have it loaded in the NVR instead of the HDD. Everything worked so easily, that's one thing I love about Reolink. Their cameras and software are so easy to use.
@@crimsoncastillo1356 I’m considering doing the same thing. Mine has 8 cameras and records 24/7 and still manages to hold 2wks worth of recordings. I might wait until the hard drive is dead to swap it out though. Let me know how many weeks of recordings the 6Tb ends up holding for you
@@bird2002 Mine came with a 2TB HDD. I can get about 5 days of retention with 24/7 recording using 7 5MP cameras. Gonna add my last 8th camera later on tonight. I'll keep you posted on the 6TB upgrade. Should be here next week. Thanks for your replies really appreciate it
Not sure which NVR you got, but now they can take up to 6 TB

@@bird2002 OK< sounds like you covered it. I have seen other REOLINK reviews where they clearly showed the QU-Code

Nice job. When you powered on the NVR did you only have to format the new HDD? The Reolink software already came on the NVR? No additional downloads?
